I for one am happy to see Liedson play for us, he's a proven goalgetter. We're not blessed with strikers. Even Pauleta was a midget-killer only.

PS: we miss a good coach! ;)

Screw that. I'm tired of it. Deco and then Pepe. Enough is enough. Brazilians are Brazilians.....We've made enough exceptions...Sorry, I'm not in favor of watering down the NT with foreign nationals so we can qualify for the World Cup when the problem in this campaign has been coaching more than anything else. Absolute garbage!

We're not blessed with strikers.
Exactly. And other teams aren't blessed with our midfield so you don't see them capping whoever the hell they want to supplent a weakness. We qualify with what we have. Done deal.

And after seeing Liedson yesterday, he's far from the answer. :yuck:

Well, it's true. On paper, having a midfield selection with players like Deco, Joao Moutinho, Tiago, Raul Meireles, Pepe as a DM, Manuel Fernandes, Pedro Mendes, etc. should ensure whoever gets picked can put together some chemistry, but it hasn't worked out like that.

The problem is that Moutinho has just matured; Tiago is regaining his form after being crap for 2 years; Manuel Fernandes doesn't get any love and the same can be said for Pedro Mendes.

Queiroz..:wallbang:

Josh, have you heard anything about Vieirinha? I always liked the way he played. From the little I've heard he's doing decent at PAOK.
He's done decent, but let's remember that guys like Edinho and stuff did well in Greece too.

If we want a dynamic winger(I don't think we need wingers), then it should undoubtedly be Silvestre Varela who looks head and shoulders ahead of Vieirinha, Bruno Gama, Helder Barbosa, Daniel Candeias, and whoever else. Varela looks to be a starter for Porto right now with Rodriguez and Hulk up front as he's shown alot more than Mariano, Falcao, Farias.

Beto (F.C. Porto)
Eduardo (Sp. Braga)
Moreira (Benfica)

Bosingwa (Chelsea)
Bruno Alves (F.C. Porto)
Miguel (Valencia)
Pepe (Real Madrid)
Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea)
Rolando (F.C. Porto)

Deco (Chelsea)
Duda (Sevilha)
João Moutinho (Sporting)
Raúl Meireles (FC Porto)
Tiago (Juventus FC)

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Hugo Almeida (Werder Bremen)
Nani (Manchester Utd)
Simão Sabrosa (Atlético Madrid)

Guess we'll see the usual line-up of Eduardo; Bosingwa, Carvalho, Bruno Alves, Duda; Pepe, Raul Meireles, Deco; Ronaldo, Simao, Hugo Almeida

One that is only rivaled to the likes of a few NT's if that.

I know you're not this stupid Joshua besides being a Porkista and all.
I do not doubt the quality of the players, but the Portuguese national team's midfield has been getting dominated and overrun by every half-decent team for 2 years now.

That's a massive concern.

I am, gotta agree to Joshua here, not so convinced of our midfield anymore, they haven't been creative in ages with the national team. We didn't narrowly draw Albania because we were unlucky with missing chances, but because we were at level! We didn't even create chances to miss, regarded as a midfield-task commonly.
Deco is useless and the rest overrated. Maybe Pedro Mendes might be a solution, but then again, I would play good football in Scotland, barefooted. ;)

I agree, though, that Queiroz must have a decent share to this.
Wouldn't be the first time he managed us out of the World Cup before it even began. Happened already with our golden generation in 1994. Queiroz is a one-hit-wonder, still celebrated for some youth-trophy, which is of importance to no nation on earth but one obviously, and a lousy cup with Sporting (Robson would've won the championship with that team).

im not trying to be racist here but why does Portugal have gypsys and africans on their team? i mean its too much already
I'm confinced that you have no idea what you're talking about. Africans? Gypsys? Every Portuguese player on our team with exception to Pepe and Deco was either born in Portugal or has parents that are Portuguese.
