Giovanni is not going to even come close to replacing Arda on this team if that's what he was brought in to do - this is what i've seen so far since he's come to Turkey. Apart from the odd decent move on the pitch he doesn't have the game changing ability that Arda has. Id say look elsewhere, this isn't the league for him.

Trabzon is playing a high pressure game, the entire defensive half for Galatasaray is under pressure with 2 players. The simple thing to do is to bring someone like Elano back who can make a pass to claim support and make the bridge from defense to offense quicker and catch Trabzon with the odd man out with all that pressure. Would prove to be dangerous.

We're playing shit, nothing new.

Trabzon deserves this game easily.

I think Bursa will finish 1st this season with Fenerbahce coming second.

gala had a lot of chances to score as did Trabzon and thanks to a ridiculous mistake by emre gungor Trabzon are up 1-0.

Sabri should have been given a direct red card as he took down Burak who was in on a clear breakaway, not even a free kick :howler:, whta a joke

Fenerbahce always plays like shit, nothing new.

Galatasaray will win this game because I never doubt the ability of Trabzon ****ing up big games.

I think Bursa should finish 1st this season, Fenerbahce won't even come close to the top 3 this year and they don't deserve to anyway, Galatasaray will be at least 2nd hands down.

Gio isn't class today, not yet. Making a couple through balls isn't enough for me anyway. He's not changing the flow like he should be up there when he has the ball. He only has one thing in mind and that's ALWAYS trying to beat the first man that's on him. It's only after that he decides to do something like look for the pass. He would be far more useful if he opens his mind a little. He's the most obvious player on the pitch right now.

if he plays right wing or am, i'm sure he can become very valuable for us. its not like arda wins us a lot of important games against good teams either.

he's a constant threat for the trabzon defence with his passes and dribblings. he's doing well untill now. i dont know what else it is that you expect though? you say it takes too long for him to pass? ever seen arda play? :D

Whether or not Arda has done it as much as people have expected is not relevant to me, Arda has at least shown that he has the ability to do so, whereas Gio hasn't for any of his clubs to be perfectly honest.

This is all in the context of expecting Gio to replace Arda. He's not going to come close with this style of play.

Here is the key difference: Arda roams around on the left side and then into the middle and then wherever he is needed and has the confidence to pull it off.

Whenever Arda receives the ball its never obvious what he's going to do like Gio. Gio will always try to make that darting run past the man marking him. Arda will always do something different because he understands what the team needs at a certain point in the game... sometimes Arda holds up the ball to slow down the play because the team needs to regroup, sometimes he does try to make a dangerous run down the flank, sometimes he switches the play, and believe it or not he creates space for others when he holds up the ball AND THEN utilizes those very players. There are countless goals he's created this season like that, its whether or not people pay attention to that subtle stuff.

Im not saying Gio is bad, but Arda is of different quality for sure.

That was not a foul on Burak.

We can't win this game, only if Trabzon lets us or if we start the second half with Baros.

Rijkaard found the best moment to teach this team how to defend. Stupidity.
