I agree with that about Caceres, Abidal is less than convincing and Caceres can't surely cross worse than him so Im all for it.

Having all those CB's will at least make them all fight for their place (except Puyol who is a guaranteed starter).

already we have Puyol, Marquez, Caceres, Pique + injured Milito so this signing doesn't make much sense to me and if I was a CB in the cantera like Valiente I'd be asking for a transfer

 

I dont know,man.I see these signings because Puyol and Rafa wont be here in 3-4 years.I see Milito,Caceres,Henrique and Pique as the 4 CBs in future and Alves at RB.This is good as we also have two of Right footed and Left footed CBs.

If Henrique is signed it will be 5 defender +1 milito..whats the problem?

You have Puyol, Marquez, Milito, Caceras and now this Henrique at CB position. I realy can't see where and when cheapest investment is going to play. Maybe and probaly only in Copa, otherwise no way Pep is going to experimnt with with this guy in La Liga and CL. Of course I'm talking when you would have all defenders fit and available. Injuries are different story.

 

If you look at our injury record, it's not that bad imo.

Milito is injured, nobody knows if he could come back as strong as before.. Puyol and Márquez had lots of small injuries over the last two seasons. Oleguer and Edmílson -> injured a lot.

Cáceres could play LB, Piqué seems to be an option for the DM too, Henrique could be loaned to Palmeiras or an European team to gain more experience.

Puyol and Márquez are getting older, so it's nice to see that the board is planning very well for the future. Like somebody said, it's better to have their successors already in the squad, already used to the system.

I think that's one of the reasons we want to keep Márquez, that he can show a thing or two to the likes of Piqué, Henrique and Cáceres.

 

Puyol & Milito will surely be both the first choice CB's when everyone is fit. Pique & Marquez will be backups. Caceres may start at LB & Henrique will probably be loaned out.

Oleguer & Edmilson were both complete pants last season (when they were fit).

Oleguer will hopefully be sold (or given for free I don't care).

 

I wouldnt say Milito will be a sure bet, Pep Guardiola trusts Marquez...

And for now we havent signed Henrique

 

Henrique can play on all positions in defense plus CM. He's great on the ball, 187 cm and good in the air, very good positioning on the pitch. Great signing imo.

 

According to Sport, Henrique will arrive in Barcelona on Monday to sign on for five seasons.
