Thanks Sarma.

They'll unfortunately never be able to compete with the giants of European football in terms of revenue though. The new TV-deal is great compared to what was the case previously but the club is still dependant on the prize money from the Champions League.

Also the "active" debt (€206 million) will be completely gone in 2017 at latest but there's still a good €300 million in "passive" debt left to clean up.

Wanda entered the club because they're financing a pretty big footballing programme since 2011. That programme has been expanded and they want to produce footballers who'll be able to play in the big leagues or in China so their national team can improve in the long run. In other words: they've just invested in getting the competence. However, they've been looking at making a break away league with the top clubs which'd mean the end of the competitions as we know it in Europe.

The new stadium will be a massive upgrade to Calderón as it'll be very modern but the club is moving from Manzanares to the outskirts of Madrid. Unfortunately.

The YOY numbers look good. After a cursory read, Atletico received ?43.7m distribution from UEFA with respect to participating in Euro competitions.

Matchday revenue: ?37.2m (up 14%)

Broadcasting revenue: ?86.6m (down 10% inc. UEFA distribution)

Commercial revenue: ?63.3m (up 55%)

The commercial revenue is key in order to reduce the distance with the European giants as they're currently competing with clubs who've got twice or thrice as big budgets. Those are wages from two season ago btw. Lots of players and Simeone as well have renewed their contracts. A lot of the money that has been earned the past season has gone to contract renewals. One of the main reasons why Simeone reduced his current contract (apart from always wanting to feel that he has to earn a new contract with his performances) is that Atleti can't pay his current salary (after the renewal this summer) for four seasons. It's a fine balance.

Now FIFA had decisided on increasing the WC up to 48 teams, but what a rubbish format, they had chosen.

Already 1 month ago, i created a much better one, desperately contact FIFA. No, it was not, that Serbia giving automatic qualification.

But they did not recognize my proposal.

Maybe you like to have a look on it and give feedback.

I had a set up a modus for a 48-world-cup which simply washes away most of the obstacles. It would have had 88 matches (only 24 more than the current format). It could've been played in 31-32 days. It would have granted every participant a minmum of 3 matches. It would have had parallel last group matches with spectacle and drama.

Here are details with an example*http://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7VQA4JGUo5ZWHNyMG1VY21qWlU

Watched CG-Poland and I can definitely say that Stojkovic is not a loss :D his defending made Kolarov look like Nesta. They should have conceded 3 goals from his errors alone.

Ivanic was alright when he came on, made one nice move to win a corner.

**** CG though.

Either they bring in video refs, or shut the entire operation down. No point in watching this crap anymore.
Truth to be told..Vidal should've been off earlier (approximately in the 53rd minute) and the same applies to Casemiro (who's got Xabi Alonso's previous licence to kick players down).

Bayern do score an offside goal to make it 1-2 and take the game to extra time but the really sad part continues during extra time.

Not completely sure VR will be a massive success though. It'll ruin the fluidity of the game when you have centimeter-like decisions to make while the TV-companies will just use those breaks to push in commercials. Just look at American sports..and not even then do they get all the decisions correct.

The moment you beat them is pretty damn nice though..

Kuipers was excellent yesterday but no one mentions that because it's not of interest to people.

Really glad to see Feyenoord win the title... this year feels like a bit of a throwback. Spartak Moscow winning the title in Russia, Feyenoord winning the title in Holland and Ajax in the Europa League final.

Celta Vigo reaching the latter stages of the Europa League...

Crystal Palace must pay £5m to land Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic

Crystal Palace must pay £5m to land Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic

Jokanovic signed a contract extension at Craven Cottage in February, but has a release clause.

And the Express reports that Steve Parish will have to pay compensation of around £5m before the Whites release the Serb.

Fulham played an attractive brand of football under Jokanovic last season, and reached the Championship play-off semi-finals.

The former Watford boss has complained about Fulham’s transfer policy and he could walk away if the club sell Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon this summer.

Palace are looking for a new manager after Sam Allardyce’s sudden resignation last month.

And if they step up their approach for Jokanovic, then the chance to manage in the Premier League could be too much to turn down.
