If AS says so... then it must be true, considering how much they hate us. :D

Eto'o has scored 48 goals with Mallorca (11, 6, 14, 17) and 52 with Barça (25, 26, 1 so far) in 192 games.

2000s
Eto'o (Barcelona)- 100 goals
Ronaldo (Real Madrid)- 82 goals
Raul (Real Madrid)- 79
Tamudo (Espanyol)- 78
Tristán (Deportivo)- 77

90s
Penev (Valencia/Atlético)- 116 goals

80s
Hugo Sanchez (Atlético/Real Madrid)- 204 goals

70s
Quini (Sporting/Barcelona)- 148 goals

60s
Luis Aragonés (Atlético Madrid)- 121 goals

50s
Di Stéfano (Real Madrid)- 161 goals

40s
Zarra (Athletic)- 183 goals

30s
Bata (Athletic)- 108 goals

Eto'o, legend. :star:

Joder! You misled me with the title! I was coming to complain thinking it was that Eto'o was the best in all leagues in the 21st century. He's definately the best in La Liga though

He's quite unique actually in style  Vamos Eto'o!

well i'll never be satisfied :) i think the supply from the world's best counts for a good portion of his goals.

but i'll give it to him he can get the goals, i think he should shoot more though.. mind you, at Barca we tottaly lose out on his heading skills, because we dont play a crossing game.. but the guy sure can head them in as well.

ah if Maxi could be the new striker of 22th century :D

Great Eto'o , his figures talked for him, unfortunately his mouth talked too much too... But no one can't deny in a pitch, he's doing very well.
I like the way he works in a pitch, and his efficiency based on his speed and finishing on one to one.

He's not a classic striker , like Vieri, V Nistelrooy more slim than them but he has good rate goals per game. There are players with better abilities, skills but for the moment Eto'o win them by regularity

Even if Eto'o is the greatest, I don't understand what he has in his mind to score during all year, and when he has to reach the Pichichi, even with penalty shots, he has problems to find the net. Samuel Samuel ....for all you scored, thanks

average goals per season would be interesting to see between him and ronaldo? ;)
Yeah, Ronaldo has a better rate of goals per minute... but it's also important to see how many games you play in one season. Ronaldo is constantly injured and I prefer a healthy player who score 0.6 goals per game than a guy who just play 25 games per season who score 0.75 goals per game.

for sure, i was just curious thats all. but im just saying ronaldo has played 4 seasons in la liga anyway injuries or not, whilst eto'o has played 6. not taking any credit away from him, but just pointing out a statistical distortion.

Eto’o on the way back
Valdés was asked about the recovery of Samuel Eto'o and the goalkeeper stated: "He is very focussed on coming back. He is excited by the way the team is playing and gives us a lift before each game and comes down to the changing room before each game. He wants to come back and help the team by doing what he does best, scoring goals."

THIS GUY IS A LEGEND!!!!

I'm very happy that we have Messi, Ronaldinho, and Henry in our team, but Eto'o is different; he brings something else to the team. He brings that killer and direct attitude that we lack sometimes upfront; something which Messi is quickly changing about himself.

And for the sake of the thread: Eto'o has 110 goals in this decade.

In hindsight, Etoo's injury wasnt that negative for the team. The Lion is well established and his role in the team is undoubtable. However, two things here:

1- Henry would have really suffered had eto'o been healthy and roaring. It is always difficult for a new player to prove himself in a position if the original player is doing great. Henry got many 90's to gradually show what he is able to do.

2- Ronaldinho was going through very bad moments, I know he is still not totally recovered, but at least he is showing improvement. I doubt he could get a chance if Eto'o was there.

I really hope that when the Lion is back, the other fab3 will be at their peak, this is the healthiest situation for a team.
