Eto'o is the best striker in world atm.

Etoo has been so awesome! I was one who doubted him and i admit that but he has made me eat my words.

But he remains upset about what happened and is saying that his heart belongs to Mallorca and what not... well Barca and Etoo dont need to be in love. This is football and Etoo has made it perfectly clear recently that Barca is just "work" for him.

so be it.

He is paid to score and we all appreciate the fact that he is scoring. He really needs to get over what happened in the summer...

I can't believe anyone here cares about Barca news from either Marca or AS. :howler:

And if Barca is just "work" for Eto'o explain why he occasionally is in the Palau watching the basketball team and the handball team. Only the La Masia boys like Pique, Puyol and Valdés etc. Seem to care about that and no one is putting a gun to his head to do it. It's his own free will.

I can only hope he stays. I really think we will miss him if he leaves. Not only for his goalscoring but his passion and the way he works so hard to be the first line of defence which is an underrated and vital part of our game-plan.

My only concern is if we lose him for free 2010. Make a deal before this summer, regardless if he stays or not.

He is a man of his heart and doesnt think much about these matters with calm head imo.
Even if we do get a new contract with him there is still a chance he will leave for relatively small amount of money. For now, close sources to him are saying he is happy at Barca and does not want to change the club. That may change in a heartbeat though.

As far as i see it, if Etoo leaves, he wont leave for a top-top European club. He has made pretty clear for which clubs he still wants to play for and then there is his age. Which is very young in fact if considering how many years he already has given on a top level but still he will be 28 in March. As far as i see it he will stay with us until he is 30-31 and then will go to either France or Mallorca. Or if his form drops, we will let him leave sooner.
And those clubs wont give us a lot of money.

I think it all depends on how many trophies we win this year because I think in his heart he believes he achieved everything possible with Barca and there are not many challenges left to conquer. He was aboard when we were on top the world a couple of years ago and then during our struggles the last two years and now back on top again. I guess he looks at it as a hell of a ride and now it's time for him to ca$h in big time, not that he wasn't paid much before.

I hope he sticks around and hopefully Txiki and Co. can work out a 2-year extension, however if it's not possible then I really hope these guys have plan B in mind and we don't come out empty handed.

If Txiki is smart and done his homework :rollani: he already has Villa secured.

Looking at Valencia's financial crisis they're definitely selling Villa but if it comes down to it I prefer keeping Eto'o and paying him unless he already made up his mind to leave.

Who else is on the market? I'm guessing Torres for the right price? Whatever happened to that Kierrison [sp] kid from Brazil? Not that he would come in and take over but just wondering.

Id prefer somebody who has proven himself already in Spain as well in Europe. Buying kids from S.America can turn out fine but there is always the chance of it turning out horribly awful. The shit part nowadays is that you also have to pay a hell of a big amount of money for the services of those kids. I mean...unproven CB from Brazil, only 10 M. Looks like luckily for us, it may turn out just fine. But still 10M for a player you instantly loan out and keep your thumbs crossed he´ll do fine. Out of this world, really. And what for me is even more mindboggling, is the fact that when next season Henrique will come to Barcelona, he will still be a rookie in La Liga and will have to accommodate to La Liga.

So basically we should be very-very careful when buying straight from SA. There is some serious overvaluation going on. Although there are those relatively well priced gems there.

So when considering buying someone to replace as important player as Samuel Etoo is, money should be the least of our issues. Off the spot impact is, what will be needed.

Actually dont know about the cheapness of Villa situation...Id think there are a big amount of clubs gunning for his signature. And considering the current financial turmoil in Valencia they will be going for the highest bidder.

Well, he says he dreams of playing for Barça, but so did Robinho before he went to Madrid. Keirrison will cost a lot because his owners, Traffic (same company who owned Henrique) and his club Coritiba, probably want to make as much money on him as it's possible. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been rumoured to have an interest in him. He's now on loan at Palmeiras (as Henrique was before he joined us).

Europe keeps abusing that continent without shame, so it's good to see that the SA clubs are trying to squeeze more money out of the situation (as happened this past summer when Sao Paolo gave us the finger in regards to Hernanes).

etoo biggest asshole of the 21st century, he thinks hes the best thing ever
