The level of attacking football is greater and it's much more easy on the eyes but for some reason I find myself sleeping on some of these games. I didn't watch the end of the Argentina game, just couldn't finish it. Perhaps because I am used to watching footie in the afternoon and not at night? I've done so for the past month.

I know for sure the Brazil-Chile game tommorow will keep me up though.

And the Argentina Ecuador match wasnt end to end
It was one way traffic - not exactly a competetive match.

 

I can't watch it :frownani: no station here is showing it, I'll have to be content with highlights, which is a shame because the 2001 version was good to watch

 

However,
in the peru-bolivia game there was two nice gols.Palacios goal was totally class.

colombia barely able to hold a 1 point lead throughtout the game the saves by henao (once caldas goalie champion of the libertadore team captain in this game) were just priceless

bolivia vs. peru
bolivia started off early at half time 1-0 lead against peru at home(peru infamous for not being able to win at home this wcq) and 56 minutes bolivia put in a second goal both were qaulity (if totti or zidane had made them they would be in the papers full page image etc...) then peru got a penalty kick and tied jsut before the end with another amazing goal (see past comment)

mexico vs. Urugauy
urugauy got a lot better played attacking made the first goal just before the end of half time then with 20 seconds left in first time mexico made one to put them at a tie they came out after the rest guns blazing for mexico to put an INCREDIBLE GOAL into the back of uruguas net then came urugauy jsut before then end to tie yet again 2-2

argentina-ecaudor
bolillo used this game as a testing ground to attempt a greek type game style

truth is ecuadorians suck at defense colombia could of beat this game with that style hahaha but not ecaudor oh well i dont think bollilo give the copa america much importance..

 

Down with the sleeping pill they call euro :ass: Even ACN was better. Euro better than wc my :ass:... don't see Greece winning a wc in my lifetime.

As for Copa America...I didn't know espn was showing us the games till last night.

 

only a few games of euro can be compared to bolivia vs peru. if these games are boring i wonder what people think of greece vs france, holland vs denmark(worst game i've seen in my life) denmark vs sweden etc

 

I'm watching every game of Copa till now (except second half of Arg-Ecu!!) cause i've always been a fan of South American football.

Peru-Bolivia 2-2 for example was a great match with 1 MARVELOUS goal for each side.These players try to make a simple goal looking great,they try to dribble the opponents than to play with one touch and they don't have organised defenses.

Copa America games are just great to watch by neutrals,are totaly different than EURO games.Europeans are stronger,quicker,they adapt coaches' instructions.South Americans just know football better.

But there is a fact...Argentina and Brazil could win every European team just because of their talented players.The rest 8 South American nations could lose from every nation that participated in this EURO.It's difficult as hell for teams like Peru,Ecuador,Venezuela,Uruguay or Bolivia to win teams like Greece,Chezh Rep.,Sweden or Holland just because technique and imagination is not everything in football.

It's beautiful to watch these teams in Copa America or WC Qualifiers but when it comes to meet the Europeans they will have a very hard time.Even Argentina and Brazil...

PS- Tonight is the night!!Brazil-Chile even with many absences for both teams will be a great match...Vamos Chilenos!!!! :jester:

 

Fifa needs to ELIMINATE all these STUPIDS Cups, other than the WC, for the sake of the PLAYERS.

The rest 8 south American nations are very good. I love Greece, think they have a great team. But I don't think Greece would beat Paraguay, Chile, Peru or Uruguay at their home.

 

well unfortunately i wont be able to watch coppa america this time as it isnt on tv here but i have seen it in the past and while there is more attacking play involved in the coppa america i wouldnt say it is necessarily better to watch. sure the euro2004 didnt have the best football on show but previous tournaments have been very good, just as good to watch as coppa america in my opinion. anyway when the traditionally powerful teams come back to their former selves i think world football will be much better to see. hopefully the next world cup will be full of classic match-ups between the giants!

thank God for Argentina last night....and i'm sure Brasil will not disappoint in at least being entertaining and professional..

but to call the other games end to end is sad....the games were full of sloppy passes and poor goals (other then the argies last night)..and the refs??? wow.....the second mexican goal was not "incredible"..the goalie walked under the ball..all he had to do was put his hand up and he'd touch the ball...so the play has been disappointing...hopefully these teams will get better as the tournament progresses..otherwise lets hope for an Argie Brasil finals....

JC..i can understand that Bulgaria Latvia and Switzerland are not exactly powerhouses, but come on, did you watch Ecuador yesterday???? Granted Argentina is strong, but Ecuador looked extremely poor...at least those weaker Euro teams are organized in their play and positioning..yesterday's ecuador looked chickens with their heads cut off....

and you're also right with Ecuador's past playing, but i'm referring to what i'm watching this year in the Copa....just like i've seen better Euro's in the past, I have definately seen better first games of the Copas....

like i mentioned, i'm hoping that the play will get better as the tournament goes on...it would be a shame not to enjoy such a great tournament with so much history of fantastic games....

I would not bet on it ! But i don't put Latvia on the same level as Bulgary and Switzerland.

 

really I didnt see trezguet or henry score any goals in the euro cup fact is euro players die in euro hands south american players breath freshly

ecuador isnt a bad team it has bad defense and had bad luck bolillo didnt care much about the game
all the teams in the coap america could easily beat many euro teams...

 

Ecuador is a much better side than the one that played last night. I Don't know what happened, but that's not the normal level of Ecuador. They're usually a tough side to beat.

So far i've seen all the games except Peru-Bolivia, and i only liked the Argentina game (eventhough it was a one-sided affair for the whole match.)

Colombia-Venezuela and Mexico-Uruguay were both mediocre games. Tons of missed passes and big mistakes by all 4 teams. Both were really scrappy games. Hopefully these teams can up their performances in the coming matches.

But so far, the tournament has been average at best.

 

teams that I never seen great matches from Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. The rest are not bad Chile, Paraguay, Mexico and Uruguay have good teams usually. I wish this Copa America became a copa for the americas indeed, US should be playing it as well I don´t know about Canada as it seems they are even less interested in the sport.

Brasil against Chile might be a good game, its up to Parreira actually, people are saying that we have a B team but to me its BS. Its a good team, that might only miss out on Ronaldo a bit. I want to see how the new backs will do and who will play in the attack.

 

hey lit....i have no doubt that you can put three teams together and will still show fantastic skill and entertainment....i'm looking forward to the game...
