Squad:

Pretpoziv: Zelenika, Nikola Kalinić, Igor Bubnjić i Ognjen Vukojević

No DM, and Iličević starting after not playing for donkey's years? Hmm, I dunno majstor.

only Males looks like the only one who is a DM, but we shouldn't debut him in such an important game should we?

Im trying to find a way to put Rakitic in the middle but i dont know who would play as the right mid. Ilicevic and Rebic can play at the wing but both havne't been playing much

I watched Males vs Lyon... in fact, i posted it while i was watching the game and i said i liked him... he has great awareness retaining the ball, and tackle a few times... runs a lot, he played with a lot of heart... always chasing the opposite players and helped in defense,,, also he was the conductor of a good numbers of Rijeka attacks. I think he can be a potential candidate for the DM position... but i need to see him play more.. against Betis he was very impressive also.

I checked again from the same website as before, soccerway.com and it now says the game is on at 7:00am. I'll keep it updated if anything changes.:D

this is my lineup on the basis evreyone is fit to play:

Plete

Srna - Simunic/Corluka - Lovren - Strinic

Badelj/Malesa - Modric

Ilicevic/Rebic - Rakitic - Perisic

Mandzo

The obvious problem is Ilicevic and Rebic not playing for their teams, but ideally if Niko assessed them as fit enough to get a call up then I would like one of them to play on the wing

I like that he didn't call more than 1 LB(and really Strinic is still better than Pivaric or Milic) and he left Halilovic off the team, as the kid needs to hone his skills with the youth teams not the A team. I don't think we need 6 strikers, i would of dumped 1 or 2 strikers.
Outside of that it looks good/fine from here. Anyone want to give us a Ademi vs Males, head to head comparison. And why Kovac choose Males over Ademi.

I am guessing Kovac spoke with some of the coaches , like the Hamburg coach for instance to see if Ilicevic was ready and could contribute

someone with a penis.

Nah really looks like he is a DM plays for Rijeka, played for Lokomotiva before and was an important player for them and continues to be for Rijeka. Never seen him play but read Tudja's post above.

If he deserves it then why not  And if Brozovic continues this from i'm sure he'll get called up sooner or later.

could we play a 4-3-3, is that formation even feasible for us. Something like this

----------Pletikosa
Srna-Lovren-Schildenfeld-Corluka
--Modric--Males--Badelj
------Rakitic---Perisic
--------Mandzukic

Any thoughts on this!

I think if Ilicevic had been healthier and was in game shape we would be better suited to play a 4-2-3-1

----------Pletikosa
Srna-Lovren-Schildenfeld-Corluka
------Modric--Males
--Ilicevic-Rakitic-Perisic
---------Mandzukic

Are we really starting Males come playoffs?

I probably don't think Males will start. I've thought about the first lineup before. Its not bad actually.

I think our midfield will be something like this

Badelj Modric

? Rakitic Perisic

?- Not sure who will be here, hopefully Rakitic is kept in the middle. This position could probably be given to Ilicevic, Rebic. Not sure who else would fit

it is hard to pick the way Niko will come out. we have been dealing with huge disconnect between midfield and attack for quite some time. if he starts Mandja and Benko that will result in quite a few long balls coming our way. Joe/shifo/lovern are logical choice then.

i cannot see how will he fit Rakitic/ Modric and Kovacic in the same team. it is an overload of the same function.

Licki,

I just sent you a PM. I've been desperately searching for a way into the game all week. I booked my ticket to Reykjavik two weeks ago to see this one. Unfortunately, I'm neither a national of either country so I've had NO LUCK getting tickets from the U.S. The KSI hasn't helped at all, and their ticket sales were pathetic (apparently they started selling at 4 a.m. the other day). My head is spinning from the difficulty in acquiring a seat. I'd certainly pay back for a ticket and will add in a few beers as well ;-)

I plan to be in Reykjavik through Nov. 20 to watch the second match at a local pub I suppose.

Males impressed me and I really dont think it would be a huge gamble to play him in his debut in the playoffs. It may/seem that way just by looking at the fact that he is untested but when you see the kid play a few games he really impresses you with his pittbull like qualities and a good touch and distributiin of the ball!!

Ajmooooooooooo!!!!!!!
