Time for a new thread, something to look forward to.

Let's start of with the bad news. Darko Milicic won't be playing for us this summer, first he didn't answer any of Duda's calls for weeks and now he's come out and said that his club won't let him play. Respect for what he did for those kids in Serbia, but as far as I am concerned, the NT should be a closed book for him.

Squad in general:

SPISAK

Bekovi: Miloš Teodosić, Stefan Marković, Bojan Popović, Milenko Tepić, Aleksandar Rašić, Uroš Tripković, Dragan Milosavljević, Ivan Paunić, Mladen Jeremić.

Krila i krilni centri: Marko Kešelj, Nemanja Bjelica, Milan Mačvan, Duško Savanović, Novica Veličković, Zoran Erceg, Ivan Radenović, Luka Bogdanović.

Centri: Nenad Krstić, Kosta Perović, Miroslav Raduljica, Boban Marjanović.

Get to know them here ^

Tripkovic is a major doubt as he's injured, but most of the other guys are already training together. Krle (Nenad Krstic :D) just arrived while some players were finalizing club deals and will arrive within days.

Schedule in Turkey:

28/8 Serbia-Angola
29/8 Serbia-Germany
30/8 Serbia-Jordan
1/9 Serbia-Australia  :howler:
2/9 Serbia-Argentina

Your expectations, hopes, thoughts, share them. :)

a mere quarrel... we're still family :smileani:

i don't think Maric has been called up but i'm not sure if the Boomers squad has been announced either

2010 World Challenge squad -

Allen, Ben
Cadee, Jason
Gibson, Adam
Greenwood, Hugh
Ingles, Joe
Jawai, Nathan
Loughton, Alex
Marković, Steven
Martin, Damian
Mills, Patrick
Nevill, Luke
Newley, Brad
Worthington, Mark

i'm assuming this was the squad that recently played Argentina in a series of matches

Ill be honest, I stopped paying attention to bball after the kings split up and our players started acting gay and not playing for the nt. It really hit us hard when Divac & Bodiroga retired along with Peja acting gay. But I do have high hopes for us, Teodosic for mvp :p

The Aussies are acting like d*cks if they don't call up Maric but won't let him play for Serbia. We really could have used him.

I think our goal should be 1/4 finals.

And Milicic.

Also, as you probably know, Ivkovic is signing up for Olympiakos and is most likely finishing with the NT after this WC. So much for London. :(

Yeah, all that bull*shit he was serving us with has officially gone down the drain following his decision to pursue money instead of his (now broken) promises.

The really sh*tty thing about this is that he was building a team circled around youth and in some cases at the expense of more quality vets. The new coach coming in after this WC may very well have the philosophy of playing the best, irrelevant of what age, and thus forcing the youth for two years now might be a waist of time all together.

All the big teams are coming without some of their best players so I hope that our goal is more than the 1/4 finals...

We could go all the way, it's just that outside things like Duda leaving after the tournament could have a negative affect on the players.

Spain and the US are still considerably stronger than us I think.

Then there are so many teams that we can beat but they can also beat us, there are no clear-cut favourites - Greece, Turkey, Russia, Slovenia, Lithuania, France..

It's not even sure Duda IS leaving, there's talk about him doing both jobs, cause let's be honest, when you're a top basketball nation there isn't much to do outside of the tournaments.

And about Maric, articles popped up last night and apparently he himself told the Aussies he won't be coming this summer, cause he feels tired. Keeping his promise to us. :D

Does anyone know which team USA is fielding? They never take a strong team after the NBA finals im guessing a bunch of out of college prospects and some old timers.

I could see Spain taking this comfortably this time around.
I'm getting sick of the Spanish winning all these tournaments in all these sports..They aren't even a sporting nation! Or at least they weren't until the 21st century sigh =(

How can the Wolves not let Milicic play? does something in his contract state that? as far as i know they cant say shit to him about playing for the NT

#22 ·
nba contracts are guaranteed. as soon as he signs they cant say shit unless his stupid jew agent ****ed him over and got that put into the contract.

Bump for this thread. Any news about the basketball WC to go in here. Not too long to go now and it'll be at a good time for us in Europe to watch.

#28 ·
Greece beat Canada by 70+ points and by 26 points they beat Slovenia. They were leading by 40 at one point against Slovenia.

Insane.

KSS nema da plati put do Turske!
Shocking...

I'll admit I don't follow basketball as much as I used to, but how can the basketball association be that broke? In little more than a decade we go from being untouchable to not being able to afford to fit travel bills to tournaments. What kind of criminals are running the show here?

#30 ·
I do wonder how much longer our results will be able to resist the lack of funds and organization in the KSS? It's not as if they don't go hand in hand, otherwise we wouldn't need a KSS...

Anyway, it seems so far that the most serious medal contenders are USA, Spain, Greece and maybe Argentina. The Argies have a very experienced squad, looks like they're sacrificing future results by not bringing in (m)any youngsters and going for a last medal here...

KSS has always been corrupt, it's just finally caught up with them. Serbia has some of the best coaches and youth schools in the world, KSS has nothing to do with that.

Our basketball already had a dark age thanks to our egotistical NBA "superstars", now we have a talented young generation that is organized and plays like a team.

#34 ·
Thing is, with a corrupt KSS and no money, our coaches won't want to coach the NT. Ivkovic has already complained in the media several times about bonuses from the last competition not being paid out.
