Surprise, surprise Newcastle have been linked with a £15 million move for Will Hughes.

Sod off you ginger, brolly wielding, tea swilling wally **** :frustrat:

Not sure on this story, but it won't be the last we hear about Hughes this summer I fear.

He's still learning his trade, best to do it here

I'd be inclined to accept a bid of that sort of money. We could bring in 3 or 4 good players with that money and have a stronger team.

Hughes is a great player to watch, but he is a bit lightweight, he gets bullied out of games to easily. He also doesn't create enough or score enough goals with his ability at the moment. Perhaps that will come, it's easy to forget how young he still is.

Another season at Derby would be good for him I think, but we couldn't turn down any offer like that.

Hmm I can see that point. But I'd cry if he went :pp

But your right, if an offer did come in at that price, we couldn't turn it down.

Unless Ashley suddenly has a change of heart and wants to back his new man, I don't see them spending that amount on a player.

Ah ****, I didn't look good on Saturday so it's not surprise really. But Thorne last year and now Hughes, what a kick in the teeth.

Dawkins will need to step up in the short term, but interestingly Clement has said in his response to the injury news, he already thought we was one short in midfield. So expect some movement, rumour has it we already tried for Pritchard before the season started but spurs were wanted him
With the first team.

Seriously going to miss watching Hughes play. There's no way we can bring in someone as a direct replacement for him. We will probably end up playing a more direct game now.

There's been talk of pushing Thorne further up the pitch. He'd give you the composure and quality in the ball, but don't think he has the "engine" to get up and down like Hughes. Thrones a big lad, that's why he plays the holding role. Without Hughes I think we have to play the 4231. Thorne and Dawkins or Baird sitting then A attacking 3 of Wiemann, Russell and Ince, with those 3 it certainly will be a more direct approach,

Thornes place is in the holding role for me, I've always thought 4231 i the way we should go, certain of it now.
