Why Marseille still absent

This is my first thread at this place

i started to support marseille in 1991, i was 8 years old when they lost the CL final from red star by penalty-kicks.

this team was very brillient, a team contained papan, abedi pele, wadel, boli, .......... and all that great team that beat milan 3-0 (milan was the champion in 89 & 90) after that they succeeded to win the title in 93 by the help of boli's goal and beat milan 1-0 and became the first french team that won this title
during that marseille won the french league 4 consecutive times, it was a record.

after that the scandel of bernard tabie is occured and marseille go out of ligue 1.

after 2 years marseille went back but with his name only, no titles and no performance

Why?
I opened this thread to ask why could not marseille go back again with the same high performance of 1993

I will think about that and he will ask you but our situation cant be explain in 5 min and I must go to Velodrome :happy:

Well football is perhaps as much if not more corrupt than it was then so why not?

The current owner has injected a load of money in the club, but failed to get a coherent project for the club. I remember the years when OM had Blanc, Pires, Ravanelli and co. that was already a pretty good team.

I think the scandal surely also coincided with the emergence of the 'big three' leagues in world football at the time. TV money increased exponentially in England, Spain and Italy during the 90s, leaving clubs like Marseille, Ajax and my own team Rangers in the shade somewhat when it came to signing TOP players regularly.

Agree with that C, just to add a lot of Rangers fans feel quite bitterly towards L'OM for their part in match fixing but my personal opinion is they would have won the Champions League without Tapie's intervention anyway.

Deschamps, Sauzee, Desailly, Pelé, Boli - what a team that was.

Rangers did incredibly well to draw twice with Marseille that season.

i think you had came back from the velodrome, explain the situation
you must have data that i cannot know because you live in marseille
