i'm curious ....
thats not quite true. RM was honored with the Royal title in 1920 by King Alfonso XIII, thats the first time the crown appears in the logo. The cross is part of the crown. But as you see the RM logo has developed quite a lot during the 103 years.bernmilan said:it is just a logo that was picked over 100 years ago
yeah i realized that and edited. didnt see that it was only one pic together. And yes i know that the cross is symbolic. Just wanted to show how many clubs have it in their logo.cadams said:lol u posted like 50 copies of the same picture. dude one pic of all logos were enough.
and the cross is symbolic, not literal. symbolic of royalty according to spanish culture.
which makes that american team stupid. real salt lake?
It is... it doesn't make sense, but it's all marketing. They pretend to link themselves with a club that has a lot of tradition in Europe. Football is quite new in the US, they still have a long way to create rivalry, traditions and football culture and they have to create it by themselves, they can't import all this from here.cadams said:which makes that american team stupid. real salt lake?
No, as far as I know, but they should and considering the power of the US, if they want they can do it. Mexican clubs already play it.El Primitivo said:Do USA teams get to play in Copa Libertadores? That is a first for me :googly:
hahah..wat an idiot.. i cant believe he just said that.. dude u gotta get out a bit more..stop being so one dimensionalzeratul said:![]()
look at the top, a cross is there, if it is because of christ ... I don't know why non christians support real madrid.
Koeman4 said:As you know there are many Spanish clubs that have the title of "Real" (Espanyol, Betis, Valladolid, Mallorca, Deportivo, Real Sociedad,...). To have this title, the club have to ask for permission to the Spanish King and he gives it to the club. The crown is the same crown that appears in the symbol of the monarchy and they're Catholics. The crown is the same for any club that has this symbol in the logo.
Should the non-Catholics support Real Madrid? It's up to them, but personally, I wouldn't be bothered for a religious symbol that has more to do with tradition than religion itself. Even if you are not Christian, I think that you shouldn't be bothered for the religion of others.
Spain is not more religious than any other country. We don't have an official religion, but it's silly to deny the Catholic tradition of this country. I'm not Christian nor is my family, but we still celebrate X-mas, because it's a tradition in Spain. The cross in the crown or the St. George cross in Barça's badge just incorporate old symbols of our history. It's not an offense, it's simply part of our history, independently of how religious you're.
I guess that most of them are Christians, but I never thought that this little cross were a problem for anyone.mega montana said:nice post
even if it is a christrian symbol, how many of the players are christian? Does it really matter then?
