I do not care that much if we were terrible on the field. The thing I just cannot stand is how Berlu and Galliani just constantly lie.
Saying that, I really believe Galliani is trying his best even if some of his decisions are crap.
But I cannot say the same about Berlu.. He lied to us about Kaka, he wanted to get rid of Pirlo.. and the worst of all, he attacks his coaches in public...
"Leonardo is stubborn"
Yeah right.. more like "Leonardo has a set philosophy set, but I cannot afford to finance it"
Not Berlusconi but Galliani (prima facie) is responsible for our current state..I dont know how much Berlu is involved with the day to day affairs of the club (financial affairs) but considering the level at which he is and the affairs he is involved in, i am sure its negligible..
A team like Milan who has reached 8 UCL finals, Won 5 of them, 7 League title and a whole host of national and international titles, who have had some of the best players (of all time) playing for them in these last 20 years is not even in the top 5 revenue earners of all the clubs, where it should be either be 1st or 2nd atleast..Here lies the big problem..Deloitte Football Money League places us at 10th for 2008-09 where as we were 3rd in 2004-05..Revenues of all the big clubs in the last 5 or 6 years have gone up my anywhere between 50% to 80% (roughly) and as for us our revenues have gone down over the same period..Clubs that have achieved far less success than us are financially stronger and self sufficient..Look at Arsenal for example..3 League titles (i guess), 1 UCL Final in their history and still they earn much much more than us..WTF was our management doing all this while??There was no effort to increase the revenues or cash in on the popularity when we were at our peak during the early 90s or even from 2003 to 2007, lack of focus on the youth system or complete failure to tap the emerging Asian Market etc etc..
Inspite of all this success and glamor associated with us the club has been turned into nothing but a poor beggar who has to beg Fininvest for huge amounts of money every year (its every year)..I dont blame the Berlusconis for not giving up their money for us to lose (on useless transfers and undeserving salaries) but i do blame them for having a clown to run such a big company..
Be it the Arabs or the Berlusconis the only way forward to ensure the long term survival of a club like ours at the highest level is to bring in professionalism in the way this club is run..
