Shakhtar should be mentioned up there, they made 158M for Douglas Costa, Fernandinho, Mkhitaryan, Willian, and Chygrynskiy in the last half decade or so which is pretty insane considering that all of them with the exception of perhaps Willian didn't really pan out at bigger clubs (doubt Costa will make much of a impact at Bayern really, squad player at best).

The answer is without doubt Porto though, they've accumulated something over 800M from sales in the last 10 years alone or close to that.

they havent though as they don't own full percentage of players they sell

 

What about Basel, lost Shaqiri, Xhaka, Stocker, Salah etc. still remain competitive in Europe. Not saying they're the best, but just saying they deserve mention as well.

I see they've picked up Marc Janko from Sydney And the Icelander Bjarnason is also an astute pick-up.

I think Breel Embolo is supposed to be pretty special.

Do they? Eriksen went for just 11 mill. Alderwiereld 6 mill.

Ajax may have best profit margin in relation to what they spent on players initially because most came through academy, but they don't get as much money as they should.

Yes, knew I was missing someone. Udinese have a factory of over 100 players they own the rights to and consistently keep pumping out talent and unlike Porto they acquire them even earlier and cheaper.

 

A few years ago, it would have been Dortmund and Arsenal. Liverpool are good at the selling part, but the trick is to keep your team at the same level while you do it. Southampton certainly, but I do wonder if it'll be a step too far this summer.

 

Montpellier are quite good and haven't been mentioned yet.

 

Porto, Udinese & Bayer Leverkusen

 

Atletico used to have that trick where they'd sell a world class striker and immediately have another lined up. Torres, Aguero, Falcao, Costa. Plus they kept Forlan for a bit longer.

 

Only Kun is World Class.

 

Torres was in his pomp, Falcao too. Strong argument for Costa too

 

I doubt they'll be on anyone's Top 100 in a few years time so they're not World Class to me. One or two seasons and the top, playing for obscure teams isn't enough. Perhaps Costa will become one if arthritis doesn't set in.
