Fenerbahçe lost a golden opportunity to continue on their European adventure, falling to PSV Eindhoven by a score of 2-0. The players from PSV could have been inspired as the man who gave the stadium its name, and I believe the guy who founded the Philips electronic company, Frits Philips, recently died at the age of 100. Anyway, Fenerbahçe blew its chance in UEFA competition, and now has to go back into Türkcell Super League competition. This week, they will look to bury this loss as they meet up with Kayseri Erciyesspor in Kayseri.

Erciyesspor has been doing well in its first season of top flight football. They have had a good chemistry. However, their initial good start has turned into a bit of a fall. They are still doing well enough that they can be considered one of the surprise teams of the league so far, even doing better than former champions Trabzonspor. This looks like it will be a tougher game that most people would like to think. It’s funny that one of the mid-size populated cities in Turkey, and the home of pastirma, has two teams in the Türkcell Super League. What’s surprising is that both of the teams are in the top six in the league so far with one match to go before the winter break.

Fenerbahçe will have to go into the match with the media sure to harass them of their Champions League failure. But, with one less thing to worry about, it will look like the team will rise again, and look to be a force at home. The Canaries still have some breathing space as they are up by four points over Galatasaray, but will still have to win this game. Galatasaray will be under a little more pressure to keep pace however; they will be taking on Beşiktaş this week.

Here are the records: Fenerbahçe go into the match with a record of 12-3-0 (39 pts.) and are in first place, while Erciyesspor has a record of 5-7-3 (22 pts.) and are in sixth place.

Could go both ways....we will win big by revenging the loss against PSV or our team will be extremely demoralized and loses the game.

I think we have gone a far way mow to not get too demoralized after heavy losses so i think we will win.

Good preview as always....:)

My line up:

------------------Volkan--------------------

Serkan-----Önder--------Luci-----------Ümit

----Appiah---------Aurelio----------Olcan----

------------------Alex----------------------

-----------Nobre---------Anelka------------

* I hope Nobre isnt severly injured....the guy has been playing very positive football in his last three games.

As if thats gonna change, Tuncay will start whether you like it or not ;)

Look at Tottenham for example, Defoe hasn't been playing well, so his been subbed for 3-4 games and Martin Jol(the manager) plays Robbie Keane and Mido. Why can't Daum do this, sub the guy off, and make him earn his way back in...

Its cos Defoe is a midget ;) :D

Tuncay needs some more concentration I think. A week of holiday on bench could fix it well. But in overall, he is still indispensible.

Fener usually wins easily in league after European defeats. I think this match isnt gonna be different.

But I think It is time for Umit to move away. His "absolute zero" technical abilities make fener attacks weaker and narrow. Our wings, Serkan and Umit, run very well and often make good defense. But never put a good point at the end of our attacks. I think we need two good wings who know how to make crosses.

Nobre hs closed the first round of the season due to the injury he obtained against PSV.

Anelka is injured as well and wont make it for this game either.

Semih is suspended.

Zafer justr started practicing with the squad....:D

This mean we have to play Tuncay (i would rather bench him) and maybe alex in offense.

My updated line up:

----------------Volkan---------------

Serkan-----Önder------Luci------Ümit

Kemal-----Appiah-----Aurelio----Olcan

----------Alex-------Tuncay---------

All 4 of our Forwards can't play... :eekani:

YES! Olcan has a chance of playing a full game, has he played a full game for us yet?

Let's see what Tuncay will do upfront. :D

The coach is Daum, not Cengo..

Knowing Daum, we can almost definitely expect a similar line-up with Mehmet instead of Olcan..
Come on, don't knock my hope down yet :D

There's plenty of options, so don't let those hopes get too high..

Assume the only given is Tuncay and Alex upfront, then our options start from defence..

If we need to bolster up the midfield, then we have three defenders who can play further up the pitch in Serkan, Deniz and Umit.. Then we have another three who are pure defenders in Servet, Onder (a possible right back) and Luciano (well I think he's a forward but .. ). We will assume Mahmut is frozen out and has no chance, as with Can..

Now onto midfield, the available options are..
Kemal, Appiah, Aurelio, Mehmet, as well as up to two of Deniz, Umit and Serkan (assuming we need at least one to complete a back four).. Also, I'm not sure on the official word on Selçuk, he may be rushed back to fitness as well..

And then our forward line, which is our only depleted area on the park. But I still wouldn't rule out Anelka or even Zafer, they're not definitely out of the running..

Semih is no longer suspended so i count on him playing in the starting line up.....very good oppurtunity for him to show he belongs in the starting line up.

My second updated line up:

--------------------Volkan--------------------

Serkan-------Önder--------Luci-----------Ümit

-----Appiah---------Aurelio--------Olcan------

---------------------Alex---------------------

-----------Semih--------------Tuncay--------

p.s. Tolga, i am the coach....:D
