Materazzi is th second best defender ever, after Cannavaro.

Buffon is the greatest goalie of all time.

Zambrotta is the greatest ful-back of all time while Totti was simply irresistable in attack.

Ive never seen a player with the qualities of Pirlo while Gattuso is a true leader. Toni is probably the best striker in teh world at the moment

This team worked so well together also

Discuss.

Toni has nothing on crouch. :D

I wouldn't dare say it's the best team of all time, but you must be doing something right to win the world cup.

Buffon; Best right now. Best ever? Not for me, at least not yet.

Defense: Matrix, the second best defender ever?:eekani: Whats this, a Calcio thread:D

Midfield: Pirlo was amazing, so was Gatusso, but please, whats after that? DeRossi? Totti? (Did he even pay? )

Attack: Sorry, but what attack? Toni was disspointing, Del Piero was no where to be seen when he was subbed in, Giladirno didn't do much, Pippo didn't play and Iaquinta was average at best.

So, the answer is no, not even close.

World Champs though, thats makes them the best this WC:cool:

Give Toni some credit, the crossbar alone denied him of a few spectacular goals, mainly vs Ghana and France itself.

If that self-made goal attempt vs Ghana had gone in, it would have been a ****ING awesome goal.

I give him credit for being in the WC winning team, but he scored 2 goals after scorching serie A, that is a dissapointment.

Marcello Lippi is a freakin Champion. Of course he was our ex-manager, so I always knew he would bring the Cup back to Italy. :smileani: But if I said it out loud, you bloody Italians would feel jinxed .. So I didnt want to get you paranoid Italians panicked :D

If you look at the teams which won WC in a last few decades, Italy-06 is the weakest Champ. Well, may be after Argentine-78, which was a weird team as well. Since when a Champ without a potent offense can be declared the best ever? :rollani: Btw, Italy-82 was head and shoulders better than this year's edition.

you have to be joking the 2002 team was better than this one , Italy winning this world cup has been as insane as greece winning the Euro.
They were what the better team in one game if that.
