Attack: Sorry, but what attack? Toni was disspointing, Del Piero was no where to be seen when he was subbed in, Giladirno didn't do much, Pippo didn't play and Iaquinta was average at best.

So, the answer is no, not even close.

Give Toni some credit, the crossbar alone denied him of a few spectacular goals, mainly vs Ghana and France itself.

If that self-made goal attempt vs Ghana had gone in, it would have been a ****ING awesome goal.

I give him credit for being in the WC winning team, but he scored 2 goals after scorching serie A, that is a dissapointment.

If you look at the teams which won WC in a last few decades, Italy-06 is the weakest Champ. Well, may be after Argentine-78, which was a weird team as well. I thought the team as a whole was average although Cannavaro was probably the best player in this tournment.Pirlo and Buffon were also amazing. However they won the final game by luck. France was clearly the better team and Italy winning by PKs does not make it the better team.

 

Yep, that's another thing: how the team that was outplayed for the most part of the final and that won only by PK can be even considered to be the best ever? Our italian friends got carried over here...
