Good luck today. A draw here would be a good result given the conditions, and then you'd be in a great position to win at da Luz.

The goalie

btw read a report about the tax office wanting money. Will it really affect all Portuguese clubs? if so, which in particular?

That Zenit goalkeeper must surely be on drugs. Either that or he is simply one of the worst that I have seen in my life. The first goal was already bad but the second is just epic. Maxi Pereira also seemed to be inspired by that clown's antics in their 3rd goal.

Zenit should have Malafeev, a real (and pretty good btw) keeper in the return leg and you will be missing Aimar (suspended). Not clear how bad is Rodrigo's injury as well. In any case I think you keep being favourites to go through.

Not a bad result, but disappointing due to the late goal.

Definitely in a position to advance at da Luz.

Well if you really play your best game you should win in Lisbon and seal it, but if Zenit plays their best game defensively, or even surprisingly score first then it'd be a tough one.

The parody on 3 of the 5 goals were largely that of the cold. I've played in similar conditions, everything slows down - the ball, your body, your thought process - everything. Most noticibly on defense and GKing. But you saw it on shots also, where that twitch muscles on the trigger simply don't respond and guys that are used to putting bullets through send in rolling duds instead.

missed the game ( these damn early games :wallbang:) but we have all the chances of making a great game at home and winning it!!

im expecting a massive game at a crowded stadium :proud:

my biggest concern at the moment is really towards rodrigo's injury...hope its nothing serious

bruno alves

ps. wally, didnt hear anything regarding that, but obviously we're not making sacrifices in order to pay the clubs debts

So true. Blaming the pitch and the cold for goalkeeping like that is laughable. What to say then about Zenit's fantastic second goal? I guess the cold transformed the Russian attackers into 1970s Brazilian players. :howler:

Considering how the match transpired and in the manner Zenit conceded their goals, 3-2 is not too bad. Should still advance but remember Porto in December? Plus no Aimar or Rodrigo who would both be handy in breaking down an established defence sitting deep. Either way, best of luck. :hopeful:
