Gp. F | | Champions League | Tue, 21 Nov 06, 19:45 | Celtic Park

Only 1 point away from qualification in the next round though I think we'd go through if Benfica draw with Copenhagen in their game. I'm almost certain we'd all prefer win next Sunday rather than this game which SAF will still of course take very seriously but for me the big one is on Sunday.

Probable line-up;

-------------------------Van Der Sar-------------------

--Neville--------Vidic------------Rio-------------Evra--

--Ronaldo---------Scholes-----Carrick-----------Giggs---

--------------------------------Rooney-------------------

---------------------Saha--------------------------------

I doubt Fergie will rest anyone, he will want to avoid the embarresment we suffered against Copenhagen when he let the wasters Richardson, Fletcher, O'Shea etc. play.

Anyway, I still think even a United with their eyes on another game will still be too much for Celtic. 1-2 United win, Rooney and Scholes with the goals.

This is an very difficult game with The Big One coming up.

People took Celtic for granted last time but they gave us a decent game. With our minds off the champions league I think we'll get a draw.

Man Utd seem to have their eye on a perceived 'more important' game the following weekend against Chelsea, whereas for Celtic this is one of the biggest games we've played in recent years, so i'm hoping the performances of both teams are reflected in this context on Tuesday night. ;)

We have a record at home in European football to match any other club in Europe and have beaten some world-class teams at Celtic Park in the past few years, United certainly fall into this category as Sir Alex seems to have restored your side to the level it was during it's heyday, or at least a lot closer than it was. After a lull in the last couple of years you're now playing some spectacular - and more importantly - winning football again this season.

It's going to be a hugely intense night of football, and the atmosphere inside Celtic Park is going to be unbelievable. May the best team wearing Green & White Hoops win. ;)

Hail Hail.

Probable Celtic Team

Boruc

Wilson - Balde - McManus - Naylor

- Lennon -

- Gravesen - Jarosik -

- Nakamura -

- Hesselink - Zurawski -

Sir Alex Ferguson admits he will have one eye on Manchester United's summit meeting with Chelsea when he picks his side to face Celtic in the UEFA Champions League.

United face an important week in their embryonic season, and Ferguson, though mindful of the threat to his team at Parkhead on Tuesday, admits he could gamble with his team selection.

The Scot concedes his chopping and changing of the team backfired in defeat to FC Copenhagen earlier in United's European campaign.

But that will not prevent Ferguson from shuffling his pack once more as he prepares his squad for the top of the table clash with Chelsea the following Sunday.

"I have obviously got to think about the Chelsea game when I pick my team to face Celtic and there will be one or two changes to the side," said Ferguson.

"Players like Gabriel Heinze will come into contention, but we want to come back from Glasgow with qualification guaranteed.

"We took a bit of a risk in Copenhagen and it went wrong for us.

"We want to get a result to make sure we qualify, but the Chelsea game will have a bearing on the team I pick.

"I think it is good that we have a hugely important game at Celtic ahead of playing Chelsea. It will be good preparation for the Chelsea game because there will be a real intensity about the occasion in Glasgow.

"Celtic have fantastic support and we have got to cope with that because it gives them a definite lift.

"But we've got players who have seen these types of occasions and I am sure they will cope with it this time as well."

i would play fletcher and give scholes or carrick a rest. Fletcher will defo be fired up and he showed in pre season agaisnt celtic how good he was. Also i hope heinze gets a game. Is ole back?. im worried we will go into sundays game with a bench of tweety, oshite, fletch, brown and kuzack

Nakamura behind the strikers? Usually I see him placed on the right of midfield, have Celtic altered their formation lately?
Yeah, he has played there once or twice recently - and i've got a feeling this will be the midfield Strachan chooses for Tuesday night. :)

i think well lose this game

im not too botheed about the scoreline as long as the players put in a decent performance.. i would agree with fergie resting some players for the chav game..starting 11's compared, we can match chelsea and then some...which is why we need a full squad for sunday

even if fergie does field his strongest 11 verses celtic we would probably not win, and come out worse..not worth it IMO

1-0 United.

We'll sub or rest players as it goes on, the Chelsea match is huge amongst our aim of the Premiership.

if we win....we will have a really big boost and the confidence will really be there...a draw will favour us...
but if chlesea..beat us......( nooooooo) then...it will be really come down to winning each and every game.....
but i feel that if we dont get any good dm in jan then our weak sqaud will eventually feel the strain.......so that makes the 6 point advantage ( if we win) that much more important....
having said that...a win againts celtic will gaurentee us place in knock out stages..that will be a relief....
