After the poor result received in Basque Country, Barcelona turn their focus to the first match of their UEFA Champions League campaign which starts at home to Italian champions AC Milan. Barca are the current holders after winning the prestigious competition last season in the final at Wembley, but now the road to Allianz Arena starts with one of the toughest games they could have gotten to open their title defence.

Captain Carles Puyol is expected to finally make his return to the pitch after being declared fully fit for the first time in nearly eight months, while Gerard Pique may also return for Barcelona for this game. Alexis Sanchez is out though due to the tear he picked up in his hamstring on Saturday evening.

AC Milan have nearly their full squad available for this match so there will be a host of choices to pick from for the Rossoneri tactician Massimilliano Allegri, including former Barcelona players Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluca Zambrotta, and Mark van Bommel.

As far as lineups go, most of it should be easy to predict for FCB, but here is one that I would go with for this match -

Valdes
Dani Alves - Puyol - Mascherano - Abidal
Xavi - Busquets - Iniesta
Villa - Messi - Pedro

Bench: Pinto, Pique, Adriano, Keita, Fabregas, Thiago, Afellay

We're actually missing 3 players in Taiwo, Mexes and Gattuso, whilst Robinho mighten make it either.

Thanks, edited the opening post. ;)

You guys can't even beat Sociedad. You got no chance against Milan.
I think I speak for the entire Barca section when I say we are extremely worried about this game because we don't have much chance of winning. :(

nice work on the intro Mes
Thanks mate. :)

All I want to see is that we play our best players and best formation. I don't want to see another resting/rotation. Not at this stage of season anyway.

We still didn't come out of pre-season firing on all cylinders. Hopefully, Pep plays some consistent line up and tactics for 5-10 matches before tinkering.

#12 ·
Exactly. Besides, rotations should be used depending on form and just one or two changes, not half the team.

Anyway, I expect the best possible lineup. Everyone knows that, in the CL, there's no room for errors. It's likely to compete with Milan for the first position, they have a super-team, they have the scudetto on their shirts, we play at home. We must win this game.

No, actually I don't think this match vs Milan is THAT important. We will get out of the group anyway, I think. But it's about prestige. Barca keeps embarrassing Spanish teams with tennis scorelines, I don't want Milan get away without something like that. God forbid if they salvage a draw or worse, win, this ****ing forum will be hard to be in for a week or so. For me especially :D

There's already a lot of haters of Barca and Spanish football, they will come out of their holes if that were to happen. Remember, those losers have one thing to hang on for past 3-4 years, and that's Barca's loss to Inter Milan in one (!!!) game, and to this day, we don't hear end of it.

I want Barca to take this game seriously and murder Milan. Even if most of the annoying bastards are Inter Milan=Mourinho fans. Just smash them to pieces. I don't want fanny tinkering with fantasy formations. Not at this stage of season, not in Champions League. Please, Pep, just play 4-3-3 and your best team!

This is for Mature audiences: posted this in the Milan forum :D

Abate-Nesta-Thiago Silva-Zambrotta

Aquilani-Van Bommel-Seedorf

Boateng

Pato-Ibrahimovic[/center]

I like it.
Seems like like your team consists of 3 kinds of players: OLD washed up players, tried and dumped somewhere(i.e reject of Barca or other), or none of the above (ok just having a bit of fun with you guys before you get all offended) :D ... I'd appreciate a good funny retort. if you have immature easily offendable kids in here, please keep them under restraints for this one.

so then! lets count heads.

Abate(none, who? is this the GK playing defense or another abate)
Nesta(OLD..come on brah, its 2011)
Thiago Silva(none)
Zambrotta(tried and dumped by non-other & OLD)
Aquilani(tried and dumped at liverpool)
Van Bommel(tried and dumped by non-other & OLD)
Seedorf(OLD)
Boateng(none ?)
Pato(none)
Ibrahimovic(tried and dumped by non-other)

Bench:

Cassano(tried and dumped globally)
Robinho(tried and dumped at :yuck: and mancity)
nocerino(wtf, ok 4th category this)

In conclusion

You seem to have a predominance of category: tried and dumped, leading the pack by 6 in total between bench and starting lineup.

4 OLD (either isolated or in combination)

4 none

and 1 wtf

Conclusion # 2

about a quarter of your team consists of players that either we dumped or were otherwise dumped by teams that we regularly spank in recent times... like this :spank: .. how do you expect to get a result :yess: with a group that all suffer from the same disease entity: Camp Nou PTSD :scared: ...

so stay tuned my good friends for the not-so-exciting matchup on tuesday night between: Mighty Barcelona vs survivors of Camp Nou PTSD

:D :D :D

This is a parody post. consider killing yourself if you cant see the funny side

Moe if we loose or draw it won't be a funny post anymore. :D At least for you. :D

Oh and you can't poke some kids in the eye and then run away and scream defend me from them, they want to hurt me. :D

Joshua made that mistake Moe, big time, then RM lost and now we dont see him around our forum much ;)

Having said that, you really should win this by a goal or two. Not because we suck generally, but because our strongest feature from last year (the defense) is looking very shaky so far this year. It doesnt help that Gattuso is out. He would have devoured and then shit out Messi (called "getting a Gattuso tan" ;)).

We seem unprepared for the beginning of the season and I am more confident about the return leg later in the year.

We don't expect much from this game, apart from bono that post half-jokes about us winning just so he can at a surprise good result claim he is great at predicting.

our midfield is not that good and not really the kind of players our manager prefer (apart from crazy Boateng). Our defense is class though, but will have obvious problems if our midfield can't hold up.

According to news we will only have Pato and Cassano ready among our strikers.

i swear that 1 week ago i was about to post that this would happen :D .. but i friggin forgot to post it

100% chickened out after all the filth he said about guardiola last season. in fact one would note his 180 degree change in tone after the draw put us together. barcastuff twitter had posted zlatan's interview and i distinctly remember replying to barcastuff about zlatan's changed tone

edit: there: @barcastuff well that's a bit of a dimmer and tone-down. somebody sounds scared :D
