Champions League | Tue, 10 Apr 07, 19:45 | Old Trafford

Well we're on the back of 2 straight defeats now, which I frankly can't remember the last time happened. This game could be vital to how we end our season, a positive performance may erase some of the doubt that is creeping into us about our team

Anyway, 2-1 down, the precious away goal by Rooney have given us some hope after we were staring adversity in the face being 1-0 down and a man down at half time. I think Roma are favourites but we have goals in the team and if things go our way we can progress. I'll be optimistic this time and predict a 1-0 win, Cristiano to score. :hopefull:

What a key match for the season, for both the EPL and the CL itself.

We lose it, we're totally screwed in confidence with 3 losses. But a win, gives that confidence back and might put us on a run like we did after the Arsenal defeat. The players better give it 200%.

But you can still go out on away goals rule... lets say Roma lose 3-2

If you go to this match thinking about just winning 1-0 (which I think it's how Fergie thinks) then I guess it will be your last night in Europe.

If you go out with intention to kill the game and score as many possible, I guess you will go through.

A lot depends on how you can handle our counter attack especially with the core of your midfield out, and on how our defence can cope with the pressure in the early 20-25 minutes.

We should have finished ManU in Roma and to be honest we had so many chances. You'd be honest and admit that that was not one of your best games, and we should have scored at least 2 more goals. I am not even gonna mention the PK, I am talking actions we created but could not end. This game in Old Trafford will be tough, very tough. ManU in their home stadium will not play like last time, and I think we can win, but it will be much tougher than the first game. :smileani:

Without a doubt. That was the worst ownage we got this season and got off the jail with just a 2-1. The game should've been dead and buried and we are lucky to get a 2nd chance.

Now with it being so crucial for our confidence, they better perform.

Roma players upset with Man Utd boss Ferguson

Roma's players have accused Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson of trying to influence the ref for the second-leg of their Champions League clash next week.

The United manager had accused referee Herbert Fandel of being Roma's '12th man' in midweek and yesterday he repeated his criticism of Roma defender Christian Chivu, who appeared to applaud the official for sending off Paul Scholes.

Roma keeper Doni said Ferguson was looking for excuses, saying: "I do not understand the protests about the referee. What's Ferguson talking about?

"Ferguson is just searching for more pressure to put on the referee for the next match."

And Chivu, accused by Ferguson of "unacceptable" behaviour, said: "He's protesting because he's trying to justify the defeat."

But Ferguson hit back: "I have no problems with Roma as a club but Chivu is a different breed."

It was kind of funny seeing Chivu give the ref a pat on the back when he gave the red card. I can see that pissing off Ferguson, but im sure its already out of his mind.

Thankfully though the game will start 11 on 11 and whoever goes through will have to earn it.

Roma were wasteful and didn't take the opportunity to kill us off. They could of murdered us ten times over on agg if they had better finishing and experience.

We should beat them at our ground with eleven but nothing is certain. We need an assured start and a good performance. We will make this game hard on ourselves I think but we are potent at home.

Good luck and lets hope for no injuries on either side.

This is the perfect time for CR to prove his mettle and pull United out of this slump :hopefull:
hes pulled us out of every slump weve had this season... I dont think he has much else to prove, and was easily our best player against roma in what was otherwise a really draining team display..

1-0 to united...CR to score :D
