Roma fans, I would like to know who do you think is the better player. Is it Totti or Cassano? Who is more creative? Who is the better passer of the ball and who is a better finisher? :)

Cassano can dribble better and is generally a better ball handler. Totti has been the better all-around player, though he's playing average this season so far. Totti is one of the best passers in the world, and can launch a forward better than anyone in the game. He also has a very powerful shot. Cassano may have a better header, tho.

Well, I'd say that Cassano is more comfortable dribbling up with the ball and can get past players as he's got this Brazilian style ball control but that's basically the only edge he's got over Totti.

Totti is a magician. He can not only put the ball in the back of the net, but he controls the team with his vision and passing. Obviously, 'Tono can never dream of having the same type of amazing set piece ability or shot power and accuracy that Il Capitano Totti posseses.

If I was to buy one of them and only one,I would opt for Totti. While Cassano is better at running with the ball as he has great dribbling skills,Totti's one touch passing and free-kicks are match-winners.In fact,Totti's skill of free-kick taking and passing one touch make him the best in the world at that skill, while Ronaldinho is certainly better at Cassano at going past players and at shooting.

Totti is much more influential. That's all that matters.

Cassano is much more gifted in virtually every sense. From a technical point of view. But unless he adds "influential" to his virtues it won't matter in the long run.

i dunno if he will ever have the power of Totti...who really is an amazing striker of the ball ...its clear even in his passes...Cassano will also never have the vision of Totti...no one does actually...zidane or whatever in my opinion....but Cassano is very gifted and can have a huge impact on any team he plays for....but i gotta go with the Captain...the best in the world.

Totti is for shure the better player for now. But I see Cassano becoming a better player in the future if he matures a little.

The thing with Totti is he's not a man for the big games. He often plays under his level, like against Milan the other week. He's not like Scheva or Nedved for example if you know what I mean. I think Cassano is different. I think he will be a man for the big games. We saw some of that this summer with Italy. When all the other offensive players failed he delivered.

how is he not a man for big games...he had two men on him at all times during that milan game...and he was one of the only people who did something...when you get the ball 5 times during a whole game you think Nedved or Shev would of scored...not at all.

I am not so sure, for someone as young as Cassano he's shown amazing vision at times. He can only get better in that aspect with time.
For now Totti is the better player, but if Cassano gets his act together and keep his temper under control for most of the time in the next few years he could well surpass Totti. He certainly has all the talent he needs to do that. His ball control and his first touch are second to none, I feel, with the possible exception of Ronaldinho. He's a very good passer, dribbler, etc.

Keep in mind that Totti probably has one of the best passing techniques in the world. In my opinion, only Xabi Alonso is better. You almost never see Cassano score from far out, you never see him launching great 60 meter passes either. Totti also has a better volley technique. In short, Cassano is inferior when it comes to striking the ball. Then it doesn't count for much that he's far better than Totti at dribling and Nike-commercials. But no disrespect, he's an absolutely fantastic footballer with a huge potential.

Well, Pierri van Hoijdoonk kind of puts Totti to shame when it comes to striking the ball as well. But surely no one would be so silly as to stare oneself blind on that fact alone and let all other variables pass by unnoticed?

It was merely an example. The Milan game was an example.

But you must have noticed this. Look at the league-decisive game between Milan and Roma in April-May of last season. Scheva delivered, Totti did not. Now I don't remember the game itself, Totti might have had a very good game, but he did not give the knock-out punch like Scheva did. And this is not the only game. What I recall it's the same a lot of times. Some Cl-games he also don't deliver when it counts the most.

Some of you migh say that it's not his job to do so, but more the teams job to deliver when it counts. I say true, but, every great team have a player that is many times the difference between a loss and a win. How many times havn't Nedved saved our asses when we sometimes played really bad. Scheva dito. Over the long run those guys maybe havn't had a better season then Totti, but they were more decisive on the big stage and in the big matches.

I might be a bit unfair to Totti, but this is how feel about it.

What about that away against Real Madrid wher his goal won the game, the away game against Valencia where he scored 2 and set up the third not to mention was the catalyst behind the whole game. He was just awesome.
If this is the case I was maybe wrong then.

The thing is that when I have seen him in important League-games or CL games he have not been very good. He often runs and hides a little. I don't watch all Romas games though so he might be good the ones I havn't seen.

I'm asking you a question, not bashing or anything! Is there any one else but me that feel that he often tends to dissaper when the big-matches are played or is it just me?
