I read somewhere Lyon were lining him up as a replacement for Essien. About £8-£10 million was the value. Why is Fergie not interested in him if he is looking for experienced Central Midfielder. Surely it is much better than Jermaine Jenas.

Well Klebs deal is almost done as well. So that means two midfield players leaving without replacements coming in. Even if Fergie bets his house on Smith succeeding at central midfield, he would want some adequate cover in case he gets injured.

Rosicky is more on the Scholes mould and he could be seen as Scholesy's replacement. We need a new box-to-box midfielder who is good enough and confident enough to control play from midfield. Jenas is not upto scratch and it seems like he's heading for Highbury anyway. So who else is left then?!?

I suggested this one exactly 4 months - 12 days - 15 hours - 25 min - 21 seconds ago to be exact :D

Thomas Rosicky would be fantastic for United, but he would fit even better in the system Chelsea play. Mourinho should take Rosicky and leave Essien to Manchester United, I think he would be well with Jenas

i can't believe Lyon think Essien is Gerrard's worth plus a player. Sounds absurd to me. 3 weeks should be enough time for Fergie to find someone suitable and experienced but I pray to God that he doesn't leave till too late. The Times paper says Fergie has an axe rating of 3/5. Another season like we just had. and I'm afraid like it or lump it Fergie will be on his way out.

If Man U bought him I would be extremely impressed. The guy's a little genius, who would be great in the premiership. He's being absolutely wasted at Dortmund at the moment and desperately needs a move. Dortmund are skint at the moment so any sort of substantial offer would get him.

He would be the long overdue replacement for Scholes I reckon. My only concern would be where to play him. Fergie seemingly wants to play a 4-2-3-1 these days. With combinations of Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs/Park. That would mean Rosicky would have to play slightly deeper alongside a DM. He could easlity do it (he's played there for the Cechs[?]) but it would sacrifice the team defensively.

Rosicky would be a tremendous signing which of course means that it won't happen.

'Fergie in transfer coo shocker' somehow I don't think so.

Rosicky is a gun player as vedz puts it. i decided to use his adjective because i think vedz hit the nail in the head.

I have seen Tomas both for the Czech team and for Dortmund. For his NT he plays like a man possessed and turns in sterling performances. At BVB tho, he plays like a man who doest have clear understanding of what to do on the pitch. Although this could be his coach's fault he also seems to be depressed and lacklustre most times.

I strongly suspected that he would leave at the end of last season but even though BVB were prepared to sell he was the one who wanted to stay on i think.

I think though that a move to BVB would only make Rosicky a better player. At BVB he already knows that he is the best player and maybe lacks inspiration because of that. Playing with better teammates could stimulate him a great deal.

On the other hand tho...where would u play him? I dont think that the DM beside Keane would be his position. Too attacking imo and Man Utd would get murdered against quality oppositions.
