Crvena Zvezda didn't make it to the championsleague for one reason and one reason only !!
It had nothing to do with sports, just politics !!
They were simply bribeb by UEFA !!
Can you people imagine if we had gone through to the CL? What then? Do you people actually think that if we were drawn in the same group with for instance
Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris ST Germain etc...
that we would even play does mathes away? Deffinately not !

As usual politics have yet again influenced sports to our disadvantage....

Have any of you ever wondered why Our national team never plays against top Country's in Europe, and instead play low class games against country's like Hong Kong....Kina....Korea etc...This is all POLITICS....no one want's to play with us because we are considered the enemy.

contrys like England, France and Germany would certainly have refused to grant us visas unabeling us to travell to the away matches.
We all know that UEFA refused to pay our national team after this summers european championships ! then Mateja Kezmans transffer fee received by Partizan from
PSV Eindhoven was almost denied because they claimed that we were "under sanctions" and that the transffer was illegal
If Zvezda had gone through UEFA would have deffinately made our lives miserable...we probably wouldn't have received any of the money we would have earned playing.....
they would have made problems with issuing visas.....etc

BUT...in order to not have to deal with that, they simply payed off the red star directors, Dragan Zaic and company at the top....it's as simple as that....Our Boys in Red and White did everything humanly possible to qualify but this time there were higher powers influencing the game !

i agree with you serbian bandit about politics being constantly mixed in our sport and most of your points are true but i do not believe that Red Star were denied victory because of politics.

i saw the game live through sportska centrala. we played against a east european team and the ref was greek and refereed fairly and i dont think zvezda would of fixed a result.
it is bad that we drew but you just got to live with itmy friend.

I wouldnt care if CZ lost 100 - 0 in the CL. As long as they made it, displayed their talent and showed the world how other countries play

Even though I support Partizan, I was still dissapointed that Crvena Zvezda didnt make the champions league...but I dont think it was a "fixed" game...CZ just werent good enough:)

Oh come on, it had "fixed" written all over it.....

Just look at these facts and comments made by players and the red star staff:
- "We will die in order to get to the CL
- "We will attack, we won't deffend
-"We won't calculate anything, we are going to score 3goals"
- "We are going throgh"

hmm....interesting comments before the game.....
now let's take a look at reality!

- ok...they played offensive soccer the first 15 minutes, i have too give them that much
- after they scored, the backed down playing 4-5-1 and giving the initiative to Dyn. Kiev
- Muslin takes out the GOALSCORER
- With 10 minutes to go he takes out one attacker for another, out went Drulic and in came Stevanovic.
- How many of you saw Muslins expession when WE scored??

Hmm....now comments after the game

- "We died on the field trying, we just didn't make it"
what a joke.....
- "Well, maybe we'll have MORE LUCK next year"
- They were the better side, they dominated in both games, the better side went through
- And Lerinc comment 3 weeks before the game
"I RUTE for Dynamo Kiev in the CL" hmm...The guy was INVISIBLE on Marakana

The clubs staff is real scum, just like the FSJ, beleive it or not !!

It would been cool to see Red Star in the Champions league. I was really impressed about them when watching the on Eurosport. Especially their fans were great!

Due the political reasons I always sympathize Yugoslav national and club team teams. I’ve always fet that Serbs have been mistreated by western European countries and USA.

When i make comments about corruption and match fixing in football no one believes me.

Its ridiculous how much corrupotion there is.

Everyone has seen what has happened to cricket because one player's morals began to worry him and now its all blow wide open.

It only takes one guy with morals and i am sure sooner or later football is gonna be blow wide open.

Firstly to Marcus: thank you Marcus , from the sounds of it you have a lot of sense in your head, you are welcome here with your opinions any time because at least you understand the hardshsips our people have endured for the last 10 years through sanctions and utter hatred by people motivated only by money and power.

secondly: i repeat corruption is a BIG problem in serbia but i watched the game and it was fair. we slowed down after our first goal because our "youngsters" are not experienced enough and lost concentration in comparison to an very very experienced Kiev side who been been under much bigger pressure before, who were motivated after conceding the goal and went on to try and win (and almost did)

if corruption had occured between east european sides where the stakes were so high and just about nobody in all of serbia wanted zvezda to lose i would like to know the motives for it.

zvezda would of gotten plenty of money if they had qualified do not forget!

i am pissed off but that is life

i want motives if you want to convince me on this.

To Nick 54:
What motives are you talking about?

The Red Star directors were offered a significant sum and unfortunately took the easy way out !

If match fixing accured, there were only a few people involved at the top, the people weren't asked what they thought about it.
So i don't really understand what you mean when you say "what motives did they have, when the entire serb nation wanted nothing else but qualification"!??

And your right, corruption IS a huge problem in serbia today, there are things going on that we can't even imagine, all that's left for us is speculation.

And you are wrong on another thing:
Had they qualified, they would never have seen the cash from uefa, their prime income source would have been the "attendance money" received on marakana and nothing else
Just trust me on that one....
As you probably already know, Leicester and the english are beeing a pain in the arss again and we'll even see if red star get to play on home field. Or are they going to take that away from us too?!!?

Until there is a change on the political front, our clubs and national teams will never make it all the way.

But one day, i wow to you all, Red Star Belgrade will shine again, brighter and stronger than ever !
