WOW

Miles ahead as the BEST player in the world today, and has been for the last 3 years imo.

Lamented by the rare ovation Real Madrid fans hand out to Blau Grana players

some member in the Inter board, dug out an old old column, when gauch was still at PSG....it read

Ronaldinho wants Inter

My heart went into palpitations...before realising in despair the age of the document

You my friends have the brightest star in the galaxy and no galactico comes close

Over the last decade only a few players have stood head and shoulders above everyone else

1996
1997 were all Ronaldo years, no one came close

1998-2001 IMO were Zidane years, although he made less of an impact and the gap between him and second best player was not so great, with the likes of Nedved, Figo etc

2002-200? Is Ronaldinho, his attributes

Physical: Incredibly Strong, Fast, Great Stamina
Football: His passing is like as if he has radar, and the passes he makes are honestly hard to find even when i have the full scope of vision tv provides, yet dinho finds it in the pitch....its quite scary

Attitude: The fact he has a permanent smile on his face, makes it hard to dislike someone who seems to have fun every second of the day. Aside from the Chelsea fracas, i have never seen him upset

2nd best players around: Shevchenko, Henry, Adriano (not of late though) Rooney, C. Ronaldo, Lampard (number 1? NO WAY JOSE), Kaka, Riquelme.....etc

But in all fairness no one comes close to even competing with the title i like millions around the world award him:

The Best Player in the World

NO where near? How great do you have to be to get near to the others. I mean Maradona and Pele were great, but they werent perfect. How can the guy not get anywhere near. I feel that these others get put on an unreachable pedestal for those coming up nowadays and that is not fair. Yes they were the best, but does that mean no one else for the history of football can ever pass them. I think it is possible that Ronnie could pass them only time will tell. Its not a definite at all, but at least i will keep an open mind and give him a chance to prove that he deserves to be there instead of writing off the notion as blasphemy before ever giving him the fair chance.

Ronaldinho is great. He has introduced tricks to the world of football. He is very unique. However he plays to many matches where he doesn't show much. He almost always has to make the it hardest way. He very often lose the ball. He plays for a great team and though people may see Eto'o or some other player as the more important player in most single matches R10 ends up taking the credit for the trophy. Don't get me wrong he is great, just not that great. Moreover he has played for many years now. He will probably only have like 4-5 years left.
And talking about pedestal I think R10 is on it at the moment.

Carlos, you don't have to look beyond his profile to know the nature of that statement. :lazy:
One thing Argentina and Barca fans have in common is idea of everyone else to be biased against them.

Do you really think Ronalinho will retire at the age of 29-30? No wonder you think he's overrated. Man that's one year after reaching his prime. Give the guy some credit:cool:

No, but I think he will be quit different when he is 30. If you look at Zizou, Maradona and the like the were a lot better in the mid 20's than when 30. I think that for R10 it will be the same.

Maradona wasn't great at 30 only because he became a druggy - sadly! While Zidane wasn't a teenage superstar and became better by age until now when he is going dowhill again.

Ronaldinho is not at his best age yet. If he doesn't get injured like Ronaldo in his early days he will rule the world many years to come and pee all over Argentina the next decade, enjoy.

Just out of curiosity... how many super-stars(as in world-class players) have played for many years and actually finished their career in Barca... I can't seem to remember (m)any in the last two decades...
