Finally I can view this thread on Tapatalk without it skipping 10 pages past the last post.

My thoughts on potential January targets based on expert Youtube, FIFA and FM scouting. :nerd:

Nikica Jelavić: 26 year old Croat striker playing in Scotland...hmm no thanks. Just seems like a poacher having a hot streak.

David Texeira: 20 year old Uruguayan striker playing in Holland. Too soon to spend big money on but having more Uruguayans can't be a bad thing. Nothing special in his highlights but he gets better service in Groningen than he'd get from Downing or Henderson. Again, no, but if he's less than 5M I'd take a punt.

Luuk De Jong: 21 year old Dutch striker/winger playing in Holland. Seems like a mix between Kuyt and Bendtner. Doesn't get the heart racing tbf but I'd definitely take him on low wages.

Junior Hoilett 21 year old Canadian winger. YES please. He has skill, flair and pace and he's not British.

Milos Krasic: 27 year old Serbian winger. Don't we love those :Jovanovic:. Much quicker and better than Downing, he'd be superb on loan with an option to buy. If he wants high wages, no thanks.

Scott Sinclair: 22 year old English winger. Would add pace but that's about it. Prefer Hoilett simply because he's not English.

Bent/Defoe : Old, English and on big wages.

Teixeira? If anything, Liverpool should be looking to sign someone like Dušan Tadić who's provided 30 assists in 60 games as well as 10 goals on top of everything since arriving at Groningen at the start. The only players who provided more assists in Europe than him last season were a certain Messi and Özil.

Btw, a guy like Teixeira won't improve Liverpool, he's barely making a difference in Eredivisie and would struggle big time if Tadić wasn't around because the latter have assisted 50% of his goals during the first part of the season, plus he's not prolific, the goals won't start flying with him in the starting line-up.

:proud: It was me.

I think Shaqiri and Tadic would definitely fit the FSG mould. So i did a bit of research on Texiera, and apparently he hasn't done all that well in Holland as Zoric stated and some people are actually baffled we are going for him. Barely any reports of this in Holland btw.

Btw, it would be interesting if we did go for Shaqiri and Tadic how well they would get along. Shemyy knows what im on about :D

doesnt like we are keen adding anybody @ all other than a younger player who would probaly be coming off the bench a majority of the time...De Jong/Texiera

I know January isnt the "ideal" time to do business but this squad as so many holes, unless Kenny plans for this squad to overachieve greatly like we did in the 2nd half of last season then we are ****ed and looking @ 6/7th place once more

Sow close to fenerbache for 12m

I can understand not wanting to buy players this window, as its a tough time to do business but imo (and we dont want another 35million disaster) @ the very least we should be loaning players in with options to buy plenty of players who can fill some of the many voids we have, but arent getting enough playing time at their respective clubs for whatever reason

I would take Barrios (Dortmund), Krasic (Juve), Diarra (Real), Sahin? (Real)

Barros is okay, but not what we're looking for. Even from Dortmund, I'd take Lewandowski over him, and from the Bundesliga in general, Marco Reus or Lukas Podolski. (I'd love for us to get Mario Gomez, but that ain't happening :()

Krasic has been utter crap at Juventus. No thank you!

Diarra's the only player from that list I'd consider, would add a lot to our midfield in Lucas' absence. I'd love it if it was a loan+option to buy.

Sahin has been injured way too much. No thanks again.

Are you really gonna spend 9 mil pounds on David Teixiera  ?

I mean granted I didn't see him other then the Mundialito - and tbh I kinda liked him as a prospect the first time I saw him and overall i'd be all for getting him for like 3 mil - and maybe he improoved his game in Holland.

But 9 milion pounds?

We've been linked to Marko Marin by Skysports. If I recall correctly we've been linked with him before, could be the type of player we need, in some aspects similar to Silva and Mata. Germany have done a really good job bringing young players up in recent years. He's probably not as good as Götze or Hazard are, but he's definitely got the talent and unpredictability that could help us.

Another player we've been seriously linked with in recent days has been Mauro Isla. Does look interesting tbh.

Deal for Teixeira (Uruguaian one) apparently close to being done?

edit: The Marin rumour was unfortunately fake (apparently).
Or not:

@JTLFC1 It's not just twitter, but can't reveal sources. I'm not saying cast iron on this John.

Either way, he cost Bremen 9M€ two and a half years ago and has since then become a full-bloded international for one of the best national teams in the world atm, he would probably be pretty expensive.

Reminds me more of a German Aaron Lennon.

I'd take Krasic on loan untill the end of the season for sure, wouldn't buy him though. Don't know why we're haggling over a few million for Hoilett either when we were so quick to pay over the odds for Downing, Carroll, Henderson. ÂŁ8 million would be a steal.

I like Holtby and Reus more than Schurrle really. Leverkusen do have some interesting players though - Kiessling (a better version of Carroll), Renato Augusto, Castro, Lars Bender (I'd take any of the brothers really, maybe Sven more than Lars).
