I don't think I can take this. It's like a Simon Cowell show. Every day another club is voted off, and it's just us and Chelsea in the final now. Hopefully he'll see the merit of regular first team football in a world cup year, as well as not having to move.

you have a bunch of strikers , but unlike every one of them he's world class

anyway signing Tevez makes signing Bellamy for a ridiculus amount of money 6 months ago looks exactly stupid from Hughes.

well man city never had money before, and when they got it.. they didnt know how to handle it.. cuz they have no experience in handling money.. unlike Valencia which all of its transfers ended up to be good :p

Yeah, Valencia have shown themselves to be brilliant at handling money.

As for Bellamy, 5 goals in 7 games at a vital point in the season. Yeah, shit signing. :rollani: He was expensive (though not the £14m reported), but buying mid-season, when you're the richest club in the world is hardly going to be cheap. It takes a squad to win things, and we need experienced Premiership players like Bellamy, Bridge, Given and Barry in the squad imo. Besides, we haven't even signed Tevez yet. He'd look like more of an idiot if he'd not bothered to strengthen on the off chance that Tevez couldn't come to an arrangement with Utd in the summer.

Yes, but who will score the goals for them?

Carlos Tevez is the kind of signing which will turn you into a top four side. He has an amazing work rate and desire to win, which inspires team mates and forces many mistakes. His movement is top class as well and really gets him into positions to score goals. He is technically very good and very hard to defend against one on one due to his skill and low centre of gravity.

Sign Him

^ Robinho agrees

Manchester City's Brazilian star Robinho believes the aquisition of Carlos Tevez would help the club clinch a Champions League place next season.

Robinho is confident that Tevez will choose City ahead of Chelsea in the wake of his decision to leave Manchester United, and join new signing Roque Santa Cruz at Eastlands.

Robinho said: ‘This would be a huge transfer for us and would be a really positive thing for me.

‘The news as I understand it is that the deal is almost done for Tevez to come. We would have a South American attack line next season and that would be spectacular.

‘If Tevez comes we would be able to massively increase our power in the Premier League next season — we could move up to the European level.’

Manchester City is delighted to announce that agreement has been reached with Carlos Tevez over a proposed move to the City of Manchester Stadium.

Personal terms with the 25-year-old have been concluded and the deal has been ratified by the Premier League and the Football Association.

After a medical Carlos, who has won the league title in every country in which he has played, is expected to sign a five-year contract and will meet up with his new teammates on their pre-season tour to South Africa. He will sport the number 32 shirt.

The only player to named South American Player of the Year in three successive seasons, Carlos has recently concluded a summer break following his successful World Cup exploits with Argentina.

"It is terrific news," a delighted Mark Hughes told mcfc.co.uk. "Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all the attributes that will help drive this club forward.

"He is not only outstanding technically but he is a reliable goal scorer and someone who will contribute fully to the team ethic. He gives us another exciting, attacking dimension.

"I cannot wait to welcome him to City. This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner Sheikh Mansour to make this club the very best it can possibly be. I am sure our fans will give Carlos an exceptionally warm welcome."

Tevez signs after an extended loan spell at Old Trafford where he spent two seasons and clocked up 99 league and cup starts and bagged 34 goals.

He has previously spent a season at West Ham United having made his name in his homeland with Boca Juniors before transferring in 2005 to Brazilian club Corinthians.

Carlos’ scoring ratio with Boca was better than one in three games and he improved that to better than one in two at his second club.

Like Blues teammate Pablo Zabaleta, Tevez has an Olympic gold medal though from Athens in 2004 not last year in Beijing. He has clocked up 50 senior caps for his country.

Great signing. Guy is quality and works his nuts off. Read someone on XT that he's the spiritual heir to Paul Dickov :howler: Some element of truth in that I guess.

Really interested to see how on earth your attack is going to work now.

Robinho - Santa Cruz - Tevez front three?

Ireland - Barry - De Jong/Elano in midfield?

Will be amazed if Hughes manages to nail the perfect combination straight away.
