Sweden has qualified to the world cup!!

this needed an own thread,so i posted it again here,everyone has to know that we are now ready to play in next years wc,we are back and we always score late goals,and btw we always play boring but we also win :D


We just beat turkey 2-1 in turkey,incredible they were ahead until the 85 minute something and then 2 late goals from Henke and Andreas Andersson.we are back in the Wc after 8 years.gom sweden go this is just incredible i have been critizicing this team since the first match on the qualification round but now we have made in,not impressing since the matches has been mostly boring but very solid playing so peace from my side to lars/tommy...atleast for a while

and one last thing see you in japan/korea.

Great effort by Sweden. We controlled the game with ease in the first half and even created a couple of good chances to score. In the second the game started to become more open and the minute before Turkey took the league Sweden came desperately close to taking the lead. After the goal Sweden played well for another 10 minutes or so but after that Turkey seemed to be in control. But with only minutes left Turkey became nervous and allowed Sweden to score twice. Just great! :happy:

We're in the World Cup!! :cool: I can't believe it!!! :)

Once again we proved to bea real losers and let the world cup slip from our hands in 2 minutes....i dounno what to say...I wanna kill the coach...u dont let a world cup qualifying chance go in the 88th and 90th minute.:depress:

But it felt heard, just after Allbäck could've almost scored,¨Turkey and Sükür scored on a breakaway :stress:

But then came some of the most decisive 4 minutes in Swedish football history :happy:

I think I'm gonna take back my old signature: Japan & South Korea prepare for a Viking invasion :cool:

Carlito, dun worry, I think Turkey will make it anyway :)
I mean they'll probably meet Austria, and I'm tired of Austria in the WC, I want a new fresh and good football playing team, like Turkey :heart:

WHY!! WHYYY!!!! WHY DO THEY HAVE TO GAMBLE WITH MY LIFE EVERYTIME THEY PLAY A QUALIFICATIONMATCH!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

But we ARE in the Worldcup and I am SOOOO happy. I actualy woked up this morning with a smile on my lips, something I hav`nt done since the summer -94.

With our impenetrable defence,we have suceeded.Without that we would have been screwed.

I´m not sure how we can manage to qualify when the coaches uses the defenders at their wrong position,but with a typical Scandianvian disciplin we have done it.

No we need to think forward and start building up a team which can compete agianst likes of France,Argentina and Italy.The process also needs to go fast,because we are inferior them for the moment.

Well Jimmy... We won't be able to compete with those countries. Not in a million years. But we can get an easy draw, just like in 1994, or get lucky over 90 minutes against a big team. Nothing is impossible. But don't fool yourself. We are inferior and we will be inferior also next summer.

We've done extremely well to get this far though. I think and hope that we will do better than we did last summer in Holland/Belgium.

Of course we're inferior. BUT, note that when we played Euro2000 we just sucked royal ****. But still we were pretty good against Italy in the last game. Sure, the italians didn't have much to play for, but I don't think the step is that big :stuckup:
I think our defence is good enuff and could probably keep up with some of the best defences in the world, and we really have some good skilled players on the midfield, and our strikers seems to found their way back :excited:
Maybe we shouldn't hope for something like USA94...but I just can't help it :hopefull:

I agree with VERDI that we can't compete with the big teams like Argentina,Italy France etc. and we will not compete with team in a year either.But the word luck comes in to play,so we never know we might just as well play in an Bad group,or manage to play a 0-0 match 90 minutes against an big team.Someone in the US forum predicted the wc groups and this group was his prediction:Italy,Sweden,South Africa and Australia.What do you say about that group?not impossible,Italy is superior but i can't see us losing to S.Africa or Australia,we should not lose atleast :)

then we can only hope we get an east draw in the next round,sweden going to atleast the quarters in not impossible.
