Which brazilian players had the most powerful free kicks in terms of strenght?

Well, i voted in Nelinho, Cruzeiro player in ´70. Who rememer that kick against Inter in Brazilian Final ´76? The Ball made a fantastic spin that made Roberto Carlos in shame. And the other time that he kicks the ball out of Mineirão? (a Stadium with 100.000 places!)

why isn't Zico in this poll?maybe his shot wasn't powerful enough, but although he was the one who learned Robero Carlos to take freekicks.btw, didn't Nelinho score an incredible goal in wc 1978?

Too many great free-kick takers!
I didn't have the privilege of seeing in action the other incredible free-kick takers mentioned in here such as Rivelino and co, but my vote goes to the grandissimo Eder!
I will never forget his shots in the 82WC especially that missile against Argentina!

Sorry fellas, but Roberto Carlos learned how to take free kicks by watching the great Branco!

I don't know the old school, but from 1980 on, the best freekick taker I've ever seen was Branco. He was as powerful as Roberto Carlos, but with more technique. Hell he's not even the best Brazilian, but the best in the world from that period on! He was magic on the spot kick!

I totally agree with RedEagle. Branco was a monster concerning freekicks!

Comparing past glories with current ones is always debatable. How can anyone definitely say one way or the other without head to head competition, which is obviously not possible?

Branco and Eder have killed players with there free kicks, Roberto Carlos has not. nothing else to mention!

Btw, Voimer do you remember a Brasil x Argentina in the MAracana back in 84 when it was 0x0 and it was a battle between Eder and Fillol? The game was 0x0 but it could have been 6x0 to us if it was nt Fillol, who knew all the angles fro the Mario Filho! :)
