The facility was opened today with the Dutchess & Prince visiting it.

What's everyone think? Some of the facilities look out of this world, truly a world class centre for excellence. Can only but wait to see if this improves the national team in any way at all, but you'd have to assume with all levels of the game being played through this, coaches being taught a new curriculum that players encourages players technique over physicality.

Be interesting to see if this works out in the mould of the French and German systems. Hopefully all those kids playing in all the categories U16 at the moment improve and by 2022 we see a new breed of English player. Hopefully improve the quality of the youth coming through at some of the clubs, especially in the lower leagues.

Some clubs already have a great youth setup so hopefully a centre like this can only aid their youth to improve to their peak potential.

The thing that worries me is that guys like Gareth Southgate and Stuart Pearce will be involved.

Neither were skillful players and epitomised the old get stuck in there, run like a headless chicken style of play.

Having those two involved could be a blunder. The FIGC have Roberto Baggio as their Technical President. The FA's technical director is Gareth Southgate. Big difference!

They should get guys like Hoddle, Waddle, Barnes, Beardsley, Le Tissier involved.
I would have included Gascoigne but he's not exactly the most stable of men.

Could be the case of the FA screwing up again and again. Hope I'm wrong.

He's done a decent job at West Brom, their academy produces decent enough players and the players he's identified to join them have kept them up and more. He's done that on a limited budget too. Whether or not he's suited to this role is anyone's guess and I just hope he wasn't employed because of Woy. If he was, we're ****ed.
