Well.. I though we should have a thread to discuss our season so far and what we expect for the next six months.

Here's how we've done so far:

La liga:

Games Played: 16 Won: 8 Lost: 5  Drew: 3 Points: 27 out of 46

Goals Scored: 23 Goals Against: 15 Position: 5th

Leading Goalscorers: Villa 8 ; Morientes 6 ; Angulo 3 ; Vicente 3

CL: Qualified first. Next opponent Inter.

Kings cup: Won a couple games or something.. next opponent Getafe.

====================================

Well.. we are 10 points behind Sevilla, so we have to keep our title hopes on a hold for atleast a couple of months. 5th is not such a bad position considering the number of injuries we suffered in the first half of the season.

In the second half of the season we'll be recovering Del Horno, Moretti, Marchena and possibly Gavilan and Edu. If we get those guys back and Joaquin and Ayala hit top form we'll somewhat have a chance to stay close to the leaders. Who knows? We might be contenders again in a couple of months :D

I'll definetly be happy if we just got a CL spot this year.

In the final 16 of the CL, we are definetely a match for Inter on paper but they got their shit together nowadays and we must get some form before facing them. I know in the knock out stages of the CL, form doesn't really matter but confidence does, so AMUNT!

We have home advantage so if we beat them, we can use that advantage to take us far in the competion.

The Copa may only be the realistic chance we have of winning silverware this season. Flores takes this thing seriously so I hope we get it.

So unless someone decides to throw a coin at the ref, I think we'll do just fine in that tournament :howler:

I dont think Flores can fullfil potential of squad, otherwise, if barca wont be in top form, we can maybe attack campeon trophy, we can extended these 3 matches winning run.....

In CHL , there can be everything, if we will have some luck, we can get to the final

our league position isnt good, so Copa del Rey is important competition, i would be happy we win trophy

Anything is possible if we beat Inter in the CL. I just hope we face them coming from a few back to back victories.

Del Horno will be back in the new year and we'll be looking like a team again. We havent played with our best 11 up to now and It'll be interesting what we can achieve when we have this side:

---------Canizares
Miguel--Albiol--Ayala--Del Horno
-------Albelda--Baraja
Joaquin-----------------Vicente
-------Morientes---Villa

That combination never played! Lets see what happens in the next few months.

That team is amazing, I can't believe how averagely Valencia are doing this season.

blaaaaah :irritate: :lazy:

Possibly the best squad in a decade, I had quiet hopes about challenging for the title. Then hitting a six game streak of not winning and suddenly it's mid table. :wallbang: I don't really know what to expect from this season, the latest CL form has been rubbish, meanwhile Inter are killing everything in sight. In the league we are miles behind and not good enough to contend, even though the recent form has been encouraging.

I expected so much for this season, as same as when that Clown managed VCF again... And I'm really dissapointed.
My expectation right now is to at least get UCL slot...

well, we're veeeery interested in Mata (who's idol is... yes, you have right, Guaje Villa!) but i don't really feel so great about him, we have Aaron who's a massive talent but only 17 years old

Who is this Mata, any good? Also the names Vincent just mentioned are good options. One player I´d like to add to speculation is Fernando Cavenaghi from Spartak Moscow, it´s rumoured that Deportivo are after him with 8 million euro pricetag on his head!
Mata is one of key Castilla player...
I think many madridistas like him..

Rankings:

1.FC Sevilla 37
2.Barcelona 35
3.R. Madrid 32
4.Valencia 30

It's amazing how much shit can happen in 4 matches :pp. From 8th place to a chance for a title push.

Our next matches will be against Levante, Sociedad and Real Betis before we entertain Atletico at home. The first 3 fixtures are easy and the 4th one we play at home.

So what do you guys think, do we have a chance to push for the title?

Quique Sánchez Flores:
"We’re Aiming To Win The Liga"

Valencia Coach Quique Sánchez Flores was pleased with the display his Chés put on as they harvested all three points on offer via a solitary yet scything David Villa goal against Real Sociedad at Anoeta.

The win keeps Valencia’s title bid on course, despite Barcelona conserving a post-CWC edge with a game in hand and two points over the team from the Túria, and the Coach is confident that the difference is surmountable and the Liga a real aim for VCF.

“We said in the summer that we are going for the Liga and when we’re in eighth place we’re going for the Liga as well. We’ve always had the same objective and the result is a step forward in the right direction", explained the tactician after the win.

Sánchez Flores praised the way his side had played as a solid block in the Basque Country. “Everyone pulls in the same direction, even with eight absences in our squad and the fact that we can rely on our bench makes a big difference."

======================================

Rankings:

1. Barcelona 38
2. FC Seville 38
3. R. Madrid 38
4.Valencia 36
5.Atletico M.35
6. Zaragoza 31

That’s 6 straight wins now and we are 3 points from the top. We haven't hit top form yet too. We should be ecstatic with our ranking when we still have Reguiero, Gavilan, Del Horno, Moretti and Edu out. Tavano needs a replacing as well.

I think Barca is the team to watch. They too will hit top form when Messi and Eto’o return. So unless something strange happens like what happened to Madrid in 04 when we overtook them, I see them retaining the title. Real Madrid are rebuilding and Seville drop too many points without any reasonable excuses. Atletico are very inconsistent.

I think we can expect a runner-up position this year under these circumstances. But you never know what could happen if we regain some injured players and replace Tavano.

In the CL, I'd be very content if we get by Inter, and I don't care how far we go after that. If we loose though, it'll be very understandable.

Amunt baby!!
