Grenoble Youngster Sofiane Feghouli To Move To Valencia – Report
According to a Grenoble director, Feghouli has already signed for a Spanish club, with Valencia the team tipped to take the 20-year-old...

According to a report in L’Equipe, French youngster Sofiane Feghouli, who currently plies his trade with Grenoble, is set for a summer move to Valencia. He could join on a free transfer this summer as his Grenoble contract is set to expire in June.

Since January 1, Feghouli has been free to talk to clubs, and the director general of Ligue 1’s bottom side, Pierre Wantiez, confirmed that the 20-year-old will move west next summer, explaining: “He has even been signed in Spain.”

Despite the director general's words, Feghouli has also been linked with Manchester City.

Once touted as ‘the next Zidane’, Feghouli’s star has not continued on the ascent it seemed set for. Though recognised as one of the league’s most promising players in some quarters last term, critics have questioned his lack of offensive production, with the youngster still waiting on his first goal at the top level.

His progress has also been severely hampered by injury. A right knee problem prematurely ended his 2008-09 campaign and he has struggled to turn out at all this season because of the same problem. Indeed, he has not featured since the first weekend in October.

GF38 have endured a miserable season without one of their key components, boasting only seven points and 11 goals after 20 rounds of action.

According to Grenoble themselves, he has signed for a club in Spain and usually when Radio Nou goes out and says that a signing is done, it's right, there are some exceptions though :D
And no, when they say that the player is NEARLY signed then forget about him :D

I really hope Emery knows how to handle this guy. Baždarević clearly couldn't.

Feghouli is originally a offensive midfielder but he's been used mostly as a right-winger during his professional career. I managed to find the quotes about Feghouli made by Mehmed Baždarević and Pierre Wantiez after a game this season:

Pierre Wantiez, a delegate of GF38

"Some players have had their last chance at this football club, we're not counting on them any longer which basically means they've stopped playing with this horrible performance. Everyone's entitled to have a bad game but you can't be a coward. These players have contract with us and we won't just send them away, but they'll be playing with the amateur's since they're not professional enough. Some players were acting like little shitheads. If they actually thought they could pressure the board by playing like this, then they're the one's who's made a very bad analysis of the whole situation."

Mehmed Baždarević, GF38's manager

"I've been working with football for 30 years and I've had my rough moments. Tonight though, I'm not even dissapointed. I got the impression that my players tried to embarrass themselves. You've got to react in a different way, despite the fact that we're hit with injuries and Rennes is a quality side. What they did tonight is a big disgrace"

So, basically, Sofiane Feghouli played like crap just because he wasn't offered a better contract and he was subbed off after 36 minutes, the guy haven't featured since then.
