I agree with the football we was play right now my brathers. the new stuffs allegri is change help us play improve football. but we cannot relax an kick our feedback. We are need to improve our chance to goal converting. We make many chances butt we only score small number. fix that one is very important.

Torino aren't as strong as last season and will have to play Club Brugge on Thursday night but still, a derby is a derby.

With no midweek matches to follow this one, there is no need for huge rotation... play the strongest team and get the 3 points.. I hope Evra is 100% fit to replace the suspended Padoin...

Roma will play inter and hopefully both teams will drop points...

As of right now, all of GdS, CdS and TS are predicting the same XI that played vs Malmo, so it looks like Allegri agrees with you. But we do play 6 games in 3 weeks after getting this midweek off and mostly against top teams, so there won't be much room for rotation till the Cagliari game. So, I would've preferred if he rested Pogba (only player who started both internationals and the last two games that followed) and Llorente for Morata.

And yeah, lets hope Inter will make themselves useful. I'm only interested in Roma dropping points.

Think we'll win this game in dominant fashion again, even more so since it'll be played in the Juventus stadium. It's almost no longer exciting talking about Juve playing against Serie A teams who're not top 5 in the league. And the only thing worth talking about on playing against "provincial" teams is lambasting Juve if they do not win the game afterwards.

Just a broad strategic wish I have after watching the CL Malmo game; I hope Juve can develop into a champions league team playing Serie A football at the weekends, rather than a Serie A team playing champions league football at midweek. We need to refocus & suit our mentality & playing style to the continental stage & let that contest Serie A. I believe that pays off way more.

If so, I get the feeling we'll concede more goals in Serie A but also score even more.

Wow, excellent post :)

While you bring up an interesting point, I both agree and disagree with parts of it. I think we have to remain a Serie A team at heart, but raise the level of Serie A so that being a Serie A team is once again an advantage in Europe. The current problem is one of quality, and to an extent the provencial mindset. Smaller clubs want to bring the bigger clubs down rather than reach that level themselves.

The league is still probably the highest standard in the world from a tactical point of view. Only a few Dutch and French clubs and perhaps Bayern Munich can boast the level of coaching and tactical depth that Serie A clubs half way down the table can. Spain and England in general dont even do tactics beyond formations and "park the bus" vs "all out attack". You get the rare phenominon like "Tika-Taka" but generally speaking Spanish and English success these days is based on a wage bill. That is where the difference between us and the more successful clubs in Europe lies.

Obviously there are always exceptions, but I think that as you go down from the top few clubs in each league there is a much more severe drop off in other countries than in Italy. For example Sassulo are probably playing at a higher standard than the likes of West Ham(Eng), Paderborn(Ger) or Getafe(Spa). French lower half teams like Montpelier OGC Nice or Toulouse on the other hand could give them a solid game.

Basically what I am saying here is that the standard of football in italy is very high, its just that the major individual talents are lacking.

I also dont agree that there is a "European Style" of football. Each club in Europe plays the way they know how and you get a sort of rock/paper/scissors situation, and the divide of player quality. The Milan "Style" of performing better in continental competition and poorly in domestic is more a question of motivation than anything else, and I believe any system that is good, is good against any opposition. A system that only works vs 19 teams of varying degrees of quality, all weaker, is not a good system.

Makbeth, you've written an even better elaboration to my few lines of a wish. Hahaha

And this is probably the best line "A system that only works vs 19 teams of varying degrees of quality, all weaker, is not a good system."

Indeed, Juve must build itself to play and win against the strong opponents on the European stage who will play to win against us in all 90 mins in determined fashion. Opponents whine when decisions go against them because they don't see us as stronger than them. (And they think, in the absence of that "bad" decision, they ought to be getting a result against us.)

This is in contrast to Serie A where Juve had already systematically beaten everyone over the years and teams who face us psychologically know that the odds are greatly stacked against them getting a result. Of course, the whining still takes place. That referees helped this club to continue to be unbeatable. The key word in this line is "unbeatable" and that is actually the quality of this club in its league.

Leali just saved a Matri penalty... who was having a great match nevertheless, scoring a goal and an assist... on the other hand Milan are struggling to score goals despite dominating Udinese with chances..

Great goal by that speedy Gonzalez dude Peres, ran full length of the pitch like the others were in slow motion really, and then Cannon shot.

Huge drop in quality from Padoin to half-fit Evra. It's not his fault that he isn't fully match-fit, but I wonder whose idea it was for Evra to play his usual FB role, the coach's or Evra's. Padoin played the conservative FB role which is what the half-fit Evra should be playing.
And to answer that, the coach's. With Padoin at LB, Pogba and Tevez used to show on the LW often. That virtually never happened in first half in this game.

We seem a bit panicky. Need to calm down and also need to pick up the pace (without panicking). Some tactical reshuffling prolly will happen in half-time. Morata and Pereyra/Coman need to come on.
