Brazil will be fine.

FC Twente's stadium also collapsed killing 2 workers 2 years ago while the stadium was being expanded. It's not like it only happens in Brazil.

Yeah, without clicking on the article, the easy assumption is that it wasn't a crane accident or anything of the sort but an accident borne out of poor construction on the back of inflated prices and kickbacks.

But at least the article calls it a stadium accident.

The real misrepresentation here comes from the imbecile who started the thread.

Burglary in hotels are common in Brazil and other South American countries.

The spanish Davis Cup team and the guys from the spanish public television were robbed the same day they arrived in Argentina in 2008 to play the final.

The whores story was a ridiculous invention from the brazilian press in order to give a less negative view of Brazil to the potential visitors in 2014/2016. Brazilian press is too much used to sell bullsh#t about Spain, like the story of the granny "tortured" in Barajas.

Had been brazilian whores in that hotel we would have seen a lot of pictures/videos about the encounter by now. Look what happened to Justin Bieber.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has told a news conference that the World Cup stadium in Sao Paulo will not be ready until two months before the tournament.

The stadium was the site of two fatalities in November when a crane fell over and Blatter said at the time that there was "no plan B", something he has reiterated.

The opening match of the 2014 World Cup is due to take place on June 12, less than two months after the new completion date. However, Blatter has urged trust in the project’s safe completion.

"It will be ready in mid-April, it is a question of trust that it will be done," he said.

"God and Allah willing no more accidents shall arise and the reconstruction can restart as soon as possible.

"For the time being there's no plan B."

FIFA also announced official details of prize money for the tournament which have increased by 33 percent on 2010.

The World Cup winners will receive 21.5 million pounds, while countries which fail to qualify from the group stage will get 5 million pounds.

A further one million pounds will be awarded to each of the 32 competitors to cover preparation costs.

Meanwhile, the amounts clubs will be entitled to will almost double from the 2010 World Cup, taking on a total of 43 million pounds.
