Samuel Eto'o vs the French press

Samuel Eto'o has attacked the French press that called him "the envious Samuel Eto'o".

It seems that L'Equipe called him "the envious Eto'o" and said that our striker was mad because Ronaldinho got the Ballon D'Or and not him. Samuel Eto'o gave a press conference and he was visibly mad.

"I am happy for Ronaldinho, he's like a brother for me and I am not jealous of seeing him winning the Ballon D'Or. I said many times that he's the best player on Earth. Envious of what? I play in the best team on Earth, I score goals almost every Sunday and I earn a huge amount of money for doing what I like the most"

"I know what happens. I've done the same merits or even more than some to be recognized, but I don't kiss their ass and that's why they don't want to take me. If the French are not happy, they can go to see their mother (go to hell)"

About Real Madrid

"Thanks to Florentino for selling me to Barça"

"I want to make Roberto Carlos remember that the fishes die by the mouth"

"I recommend them to play with Guti"

About Xavi

"Xavi would be Ballon D'Or, if he were born in Brazil"

Good for Eto'o, because he's right. He never said something bad about Ronaldinho, but actually the opposite, he admires the Brazilian. But L'Equipe likes to mess and invents fake stories just to sell more or whatever.

Personally, I think that a big part of Ronaldinho's Ballon D'Or belongs to Eto'o and Deco.

With such attitude he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the World's best players.

He doesn't have class or acts as a professional and its obvious you Barca fans will think your player is right no matter what you do :wallbang:. If it was another player I'm pretty sure ALL of you will go on attacking him.

Did you ever see WORLD CLASS players giving comments like that? Zidane, Ronaldo, Nevded, Sheva and many other players show their class. Answer back the press on the pitch, not go b!tch around in the press attacking every person who isn't in love with him.

I never thought he was jelous of not winning the award, but seriously after those comments, he obviously is :googly:

The thing he said about Xavi meant that players not coming from "famous" footballing countries which always leaves a mark on the international stage never get the awards. It might be true, but that isn't the case. Xavi doesn't deserve to win the award and Eto'o knows it. He is saying if a "Spanish" player can't win it, how could he an African win it.

Seriously though, this guy doesn't deserve to be called a World class player. Doesn't deserve to win big awards. You could see the two times he got recognized he acted like a B!tch. Not a professional and never will be. People never make the same mistake twice, but he did it. 2/2 :wallbang:

This is the most stupid thing i have ever heared, it's based on nothing..

I agree with the rest of what he said but this part is BS IMO

Eto'o needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

He is always making unnecessary comments.

He's a great player, but he should be careful because it would be a shame if his reputation as a professional was tarnished.

The best way to answer back to the media is always on the football pitch.

Always.

So is Etoo implying by the Xavi comment that if he himself were Brazilian hed win the Ballon D´or?
No, no way. I took this from the article, but I saw it on TV. He was talking about Xavi and his injury, he was prasing the game of Xavi and, finally, he said so about him. The context was very different, he wasn't sending any message then, he was talking honestly... probably exagerating a bit, but his goal was to praise Xavi.

Eto's is anything but subtile. If he wants to say something, he's going to say it directly, he doesn't go saying metaphores or phrases to read between the lines.

I've heard a lot of interviews of Eto'o. He talks great about his teammates, he really believes that he is surrounded by great players. He loves to praise them. I heard him talking great about Iniesta and Messi too, he really likes to help the new talents. He talks to them, he teaches them the job... I think he does what others didn't do with him.

I think he explode because L'Equipe called him "envious", but he's a humble guy in his work, hard worker, a really good teammate... aside his talent. I think that Luis Aragonés put Eto'o's head in its right place. Eto'o calls Luis Aragones "grandpa". When you hear Eto'o talking, he repeats typical sentences of "El Sabio de Hortaleza" again and again. Somehow they have similar characters.

Eto'o isn't going to accept bullshit, that's why he reacted this way. L'Equipe was trying to face him with Ronaldinho and that's false and he reacted like this, because he was really mad... you should have seen him, he was making gestures, he didn't stop moving on the chair, he was really angry.

I don't talk well about him because he's a Barça player, because I don't like others that much, like Victor Valdés for example.

I've would have done the same if the press says lies trying to create problems between me and a friend. You only have to see their attitude before, during and after the game, and during the cellebrations of the goals, Ronaldinho and Eto'o have a good chemistry between themselves.

I think that he's reaction was perfect.

Ok, I understand your point, but if they have a good relationship then surely there is no need to prove a point to Ronaldinho.

I have seen the way they celebrate together, sometimes I even think they are the two closest individuals on the whole team. So Eto'o didn't need to prove anything to the media.

Maybe not, but I understand his anger. He's hot blooded and his reaction was "what the hell are you saying about me and my friend? Go to hell". After all, L'Equipe insults him saying that he's an "envious", when there's not a bad word of Eto'o about Ronaldinho and just inventions.

I'm sure that noone can show a quote of Eto'o talking shit about Ronaldinho, not even in Marca and AS. But this is L'Equipe for you.

typical Real_Madrid nonsence saying a player shouldn't be world class if he's outspoken

i guess this rules out the chance of frogs football journalists ever giving him the golden ball

Stoitchkov, Romario... funny, all Barça players :D Guys with attitude, I guess... but you can't deny they were world class players.

Others... Effenberg, Sammer, Kahn, Figo,... there are many examples.
Barca players and Germans ;)

Figo might make stupid comments, but not as bad as the others ;)

I've read his interview now, funny that he said Osasuna worry him more than Real Madrid :howler:

I even know you don't agree with that , just shows how unclassy and unprofessional Eto'o is. He just attacks anyone who doesn't "love" him, I wonder what will he say about a person who hates him...
