Ronaldo or Klose?

Which striker is more likely to beat Gerd Muller's record of 14 goals in the World cup during their career?

Ronaldo is at 12 goals and needs only 3 more to pass Gerd.

Klose is at 9 goals and needs 6 more to pass Gerd.

Ronaldo is cold.

Klose is hot.

Ronaldo is almost 30 and this will most likely be his last WC.

Klose just turned 28 and probably has another WC left in him

You decide.

When was the last time any striker scored 6 goals in a WC's four decisive knockout matches? I don't remember if it has ever happened.

And that's why Ronaldo still has more chances than Klose of breaking Muller's record, at least mathematically. The truth is that today, Gerd Muller's goalscoring record seems VERY safe. :D

Klose has another World Cup in him, he just turned 27.

I think Klose *can* do it. Just not in this tournament

The question I posed has nothing to do with the current WC, like I said in my post Klose still has another WC left in him, Ronaldo does not, get it?

No, Klose won't do it I'm afraid. Most of his goals there have came against Saudi, Costa Rica and Ecuador Reserves. I doubt he will score more than 3 in the knockouts.

Ronaldo... should not play.

Muller's 14th goal was the winning goal of the 1974 World cup final in Germany which broke Just Fontaine's previous record. I doubt we'll see a repeat in this German world cup.

1982, Paolo Rossi. Granted, there was no second round back then, just a 3 team group whose winner would qualifiy for the semis, but the clash against Brazil was nothing short of a knockout game.

Baggio nearly did it in '94 as well (5 goals from 1/8 finals to the semi).

I can't remember now but chances are that Lato in 74, MĂĽller in 70 and Eusebio in '66 did it too or at least came "Klose".

ronaldo is history , dude will be benched

Fat Ron looks finished, and SHOULD be benched if Brazil are serious about winning this world cup.
They can't afford to be carrying a passenger in the knockout stages, and you notice the improvement as soon as they take him off for Robinho/Fred and they then have 11 players on the field!

So Klose has the better chance of getting the record, as he's younger and most importantly a lot fitter!

Ronaldo should be given one more chance in to prove himself in the world cup... and if he fails he should make way for the more able strike force brazil are benching like Robinho/Fred...
