Ronaldo: Everyone hates Cuper Wednesday 4 September, 2002

Ronaldo has launched a scathing attack on Hector Cuper and the Inter squad who he claims never supported him.
“There was a small anti-Cuper group within the squad,” he told Spanish newspaper ‘AS’, “made up of myself, Emre and Okan.”
“We were forced to train by ourselves and it wasn’t easy. The two Turks, like me, could not stand the Argentine’s training methods.”
It is true that Ronaldo trained alone with Emre and Okan pre-season, but the club always maintained it was because they were the only ones who had played until the very end of the World Cup.
Brazil went on to win the trophy while Turkey came third.
The turning point to this saga allegedly came when, upon losing the Scudetto on the last day of the season, President Massimo Moratti confirmed the only man secure of his place was Cuper.
The tactician this week told the press “I never had a row with Ronaldo. He needed a scapegoat in order to leave, and I was the one chosen to take that role.”
However, Il Fenomeno has also revealed a deeper row between himself and the rest of the Nerazzurri team as the reason behind his desire to join Real Madrid.
“When I underwent surgery in France none of my teammates came to see me. Only Zinedine Zidane stopped by for a chat.”
“Zizou was the only one to get on a plane and come to Paris in order to comfort me,” he told the newspaper.
“And now I am very happy to be playing alongside him. I admire Zidane very much as a player and as a man.”
Ronaldo will have to wait a few more weeks before he can actually step onto the field with the former Juventus man as the striker is already injured.
He pulled up with a minor thigh strain in his first Real Madrid training session.
These bitter feelings towards his former teammates at Inter were also highlighted in Ronaldo's presentation press conference at Real Madrid.
"After the World Cup I wanted to be happy. I needed a team that would help me rather than me having to help them."
