Raul has been absolutely sensational over all of the past 3 seasons, but he wasn't bad before that as well.Over the last 5 seasons,he's played 3 different positions, left wing,support/creative striker, and also as the target man.:eek:Which season do you guys think was his best?:)

In case some of you guys need reminding:

I left out seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96.:)

1996/97-Under Capello,21 goals in the league.
1997/98-Under Heynckes,10 goals n the league
1998/99-Pichichi for the first time,with 25 goals.
1999/00-17 goals in the league, and 9 in the Champions League.
2000/01-24 goals in the League(Pichichi) and 7 goals in the UCL.

I voted for the 1999/2000 season, when he scored 26 goals in 48 games, combining the UCL and La Liga.He scored some very nice goals that season, and most of them were very important goals. That season was probably the one in which he had the most 'man of the match ' performances for me.If it had not been for Euro2000,I really do feel he could have won the World/European player of the year award that season. He scored more last season, but that 99/00 season,I think he played better. He took control of games more. And that season his full range of abilities were on show, both creative and finishing.:cool:Perhaps not direct assists, bbut his contributions to team builups was fantastic that season. Not that it was bad in any other season.Last season,he fulfilled his role perfectly,as he was the one on whom the scoring depended almost exclusively, despite the good things Guti did.

I voted for 1999/2000. by far his greatest moment.

last season he sucked big time, most of the goals were simple, nothing to watch:eek: All this because of him being forced into a striker position:mad: Now we're seeing the prolonging unfortunately...

in 99/00 he was simply outstanding all-around... created and scored when it mattered. A complete star:star: and hadn't it been Euro2000 he would've won Ballon d'Or:eek:

98/99 was also a superb season for him, but he matured into a true star back in 99/00.

I voted for the 99/00 season with 98/99 as close runner up.

Back then i wasnt a real big fan of RaĂşl and i was constantly bashing him unless he scored two goals/ game ;)

Well now i know better, he was pure class back then compared to now!

And in 98/99 he had his breakthrough, and Morientes-RaĂşl was the deadliest attack in the world

I voted for the 99/00 season. IMO he had his best season then . he scored goals with a lot of quality. and quality is better than quantity.. :D
Precisely the point I was making:) His goals were mouthwattering that season:drool: He played his natural position, a bit back behind the strikers and scored some of the most ridiculous goals you'll see in football:eek: I am particularly in love with the one at Old Trafford, where he runs half the field, and slams it past Bosnich:D Simply love it, for it's timing and class... but as you said, he scored many, many wonderful goals. All this in a season where the team absolutly sucked as a whole, and it's only succes (ChL) was all the work of individuals - of those individuals Raul played easily the biggest role, scoring absolutely vital goals in Trondheim, Kyiv, Manchester, Paris... and supplying the all important first for Anelka in the Bernabeu - nobody that ChL edition can even compare to Raul's role. The title has his name practically written all over it:proud::D:cool:
Too bad the terrible team work cost us so much in the league that Raul didn't come close to the pichichi title...

As Micke pointed out last season was a bit more levelheaded. The team grew as a power all together, and Raul's role as the finisher made his preseance and role a bit less felt. No longer was he the center of attention with Figo doing all the work behind him, and Morientes out all year:mad: He scored a lot, but they weren't exquisite goals any longer...
he did though improve one aspect of his game greatly:cool: His heading became superb... I can count maybe 2 or 3 headers he'd scored in his whole career earlierm, and suddenly ao\round 10 last year. Rad!

No doubt the 99/00 season.
He almost carried the entier team through. From disastrous we went to win the UCL and shot to 5th in the Liga. If we had shot to 2nd it would have been all the more unbeliveable!!
Remembering him telling the whole Camp Nou to SHUT UP when he scored the equalizer.. that was sweet!!!

oooohhhhh that was the sweetest thing!!
guess what? i have a poster of that! its very big and its on my wall! :) i just loved that one! it was absolutely great! and last year when rivaldo was like whistling using his two fingers when he scored, that was kinda childish and stupid IMO! Raul should teach him some lessons! ;)

Merengue, I am almost sure Raul scored 10 CL goals, not 9.

Its my vote as well anyway! (see we are agreeing again ;))

I dont know abt the 249,i just know of Di Stefano's Real Madrid record.
hmm, well, remember he scored his 100th league goal for Real in the 99/00 season against Zaragoza with a penalty.Lets say he scored 2-3 more that season, then 24 leats season, and 3 this season,so,he's around 130.And with that, his European goal tally is in the late 20s.So he has around 160.56 more,I'd say he's on course to break the record in 2003/04 season.

And then lead Spain(surely he's gonna be captain of Spain by then) into Euro2004 as the highest scorer in the history of Real Madrid.:cool:At the age of 27:dazed:

Currently Raul's league goal tally is around 120-125. Not sure exactly, but that's about it:)
he still has a bit to go to catch first di Stefano, and than the overall league record which stands at 249 I believe?

Anyway the most importna thing is he doesn't leave Madrid!:excited::proud:
Labas,

I think its 241, but lets check.

I think if Raul stays fit and consistent, he has a good chance to reach the record! :strong:

FORZA RAUL!

very good question I put in the order to best at worse the season:

1999/2000 allowing to save Madrid of bad situations and really exceptional in champions's league the best player of this champions's league for me

1996/1997 and slightly down 2000/2001 :

96/97 with 21 goals in championship and a fifteen decisives passes
2000/2001 pichichi of the Spanish championship with 17 goals
of 22 matches from January to June

2001/2002 : 6 goals in champion's league ( with 2 awesome goals vs anderlecht and barcelona ) and 14 goals in liga , 6 in natinal cup and 6 assists in liga and 3 assists in champion's league

1998/1999 pichichi but not of good results in league of the champions
and championship too

1995/1996 6 goals in league of the champions and 19 Spanish
championship and all that at 19 years

1994/1995 its beginnings which have done remained it in the team first of Madridfor 7 years now

1997/1998 only 10 goals in spanish championship but season disturbed by a pubalgie

i add the last season

Labas,

Your admiration of Campo is affecting your brain cells! then again, if you like Campo....one wonders how many of those are actually functioning! :D ;) :D

I was saying i think the record for goals is 241, but im not sure. I wasn't talking about Raul :)
