The pre-season is now officially under way with Atlético's first game played against Alcalá yesterday. Quique gave everyone, minus De Gea a chance to prove themselves and pretty much everyone showed some good stuff, especially guys like Rubén Pérez (until he got injured..) and Fran Mérida impressed.

Atlético won easily, 8-2 against Alcalá who plays in Segunda B.

Joel (Iago, 75'); Valera (César Ortiz, 62’), Perea (Ujfalusi, 45’), Juanito (Domínguez, 45’), Cabrera (Antonio López, 45’); Camacho (Raúl García, 45’), Mario Suárez (Assunçao, 45’), Rubén Pérez (Reyes, 38’ (Molino, 80'), A. Perea (Fran Mérida, 45’); Diego Costa (Salvio, 45’ (Mínguez, 84') and Ibrahima (Jurado, 45’ (Gallegos, 84').

0-1 (6’). Rubén Pérez
0-2 (17’). Alberto Perea.
0-3 (35’). Juanito
1-3 (41’). Moya
1-4 (49’). Fran Mérida
1-5 (70’). Jurado
1-6 (73’). Salvio
2-6 (78’). Garci
2-7 (81’). Fran Mérida
2-8 (85’). Mínguez

Mario was wearing #4 against Alcalá while I didn't quite see what Diego Costa got, probably Pablo's old #22.

Fran Mérida was wearing #11.

Ibra kept his #58 :strong: :D

On Sunday, it starts at 12:00. I'd gladly let Filipe Luis stay at home because the pitches are shit in Asia.

i hate to watch pre season matches...why should i try to watch it if the players dont try to play? is always lame.

Diego Costa scores 52 seconds into the game against Espanyol.

Header off a very well taken corner kick.

Callejon ties it up in the 4th minute. 1-1.

Your right-back was nowhere to be found, Callejon played in easily past Ujflajsusi and puts it away bottom left corner.

Filipe's performance yesterday was good, happy to see that he's keeping up with the pace as well after being out of training for a week during the transfer. He'll be a huge asset when it comes to winning second balls and a much better option than Antonio offensively. It's just a shame Simão hampered him at times, the guy is just terrible these days.

We could've and should've won this, our players, like always, didn't put away their chances. Still though, I'm happy with the way we played and that's the most important thing considering Forlán, De Gea, Mérida and Álvaro were missing. Also, the pitch was in horrible condition so it didn't help.

Valera actually played pretty well yesterday besides the goal that Callejón scored.

Looking forward to the game against Mallorca this weekend, hopefully Godín gets a chance to make his debut and Forlán is back on track.

IMO he was the worst .. looked like Valera from last season ... and his penalty was a scandal!

I hate long haired arrogant players ... And Filipe has to work hard and show a lot to make a new impression in my mind.

Husky

PS: Until now I can not see him becoming my favourite! ;)

Ahhh Ufo btw. made a great pass back to Joel ... just like he did for Hamburg! :D :D

All Schalke Fans will remember this great day for their whole life!

Btw, I wish Atlético could sign Rod Fanni for right-back and Tiago to fullfill this squad, those are the two players that's missing at this point. Fanni says he haven't given up yet.

We lost to Sporting in a horrible game where they scored a wonder goal and then went on to beat Wanderers from Montevideo with 3-0.
