Boom, it's off.

Intereting first MOTD. I particularly enjoyed Whittaker turning into Arjen Robben for a minute and raping the Everton defence followed by his most awesome accidental assist ever with the outside of the boot volleyed cross to Van Wolfswinkel. What a day for him.

Best players Of the first match day seemed to be Agbonlahor, Begovic, RVP, Barkley and Wellbeck for me.

Cool to see Wellbeck score more in one game than he scored in the whole of last season.

Chelsea playing extremely eye-pleasing attacking football.

Oscar and KDB are magic.. the latter seems like he's gonna make a major jump forward into a leading player this year, although the competition in Chelsea up there is ridiculous.

Yeah, been enjoying this game, De Bruyne looks a stand out so far. That said, poor Hull Tigers. Allan McGregor is going to be one busy man this season.

Serious question Arfy, can you run as much as Lampard or have a 6 pack etc.?

Always find it funny football fans call a player fat when they themselves are so obviously in a much worse condition. :err:

Disappointed in Chelsea tbh, this looked like the old Mourinho team which would score and then relax. I thought he was putting more emphasis on scoring this season. They could have easily scored 6 in this game if they kept up the same intensity, would of been good to watch. Boring otherwise but my favourites for the title barring the Roman factor. Can't believe Torres started ahead of Lukaku after that preseason and his last season with West Brom.

Only saw Man Utd and Liverpool otherwise, Liverpool looked good but lack a quality midfield player and CB. Agger is dopey as fvck half the time, and Gerrard is seemingly more affected by age than others... then there is Henderson and Lucas. Man Utd again similar issues with their midfield, no solution in place although I expect a different system utlized when Kagawa is in the team. They have the RVP factor who is in his prime, but that is a precarious option to place all your bets. Welbeck and Sturridge were both very impressive, Sturridge not as fit obviously right now but both look hungry and delighted they both started. A little faith in a talented English youth player can go a long way. Hopefully the trend continues, would be nice to see others join in. Maybe see Powell some time this century.

Luke Shaw (18)
James Ward-Prowse (18)
Calum Chambers (18)
Jay Rodriguez (24)
Adam Lallana (25)

All started yesterday .

I always call him Fat Frank just because it always struck me as a really terrible & stupid nickname. Which obviously makes it inappropriately funny

God Marc's fanboyism finds new levels. So now we can't call Lampard fat because we can't run as much as him.

I'll be carefully monitor your posts Marc, making sure you only criticise players you're as good as.

Oh wow, TGO is being purposefully obtuse... thought another year of maturity would coax on that brain a little but there you are... same old TGO. Good old reliable TGO.

Marc in fanboy shocker, finds it odd a player who has like zero body fat is called fat. Gather around everyone, gosh look at the freak show of bias on display. What will he do next? Criticize someone for calling Lukaku a whiteboy?

Please do, if you catch me saying Rooney looks like a holocaust victim then I will be grateful for you stopping me. :wee:

Rodriguez - Saints youth is great, hope you guys keep on to them now you are a prem team again.

cam - It was apt when he was younger, very ironic chants now.

Marc I can't run like Lampard or have his 6 pack but I can still call him fat. Piss off with your fanboyism. So should we all shag grannies cause we call Rooney that. :googly:

Marc before you have a heart attack and write me an essay that I cba to reply to its a bloody tongue in cheek comment about a player. Chill.

#17 ·
You can, but he isn't, so its dumb. Rooney actually ****ed a granny, you see its true... thats what makes it apt. Can you tell there is a difference here? True, not true, true, not true. Shagging a granny so you can call out Rooney for doing it makes no sense Arfy.

Like I said, I find it weird as it makes no sense. There are tons of other insults or 'tongue in cheek' comments that make more sense. Feel free, I just asked as it makes as much sense to me as calling Crouch a short arse.

#18 ·
It doesn't have to make sense. He got the nickname when he was young & shit like that never goes away. He'll be Fat Frank when he's a lying in a hospital bed at 85, just skin & bones

Well tbh, none of us should question Mancienne and say he's shit - we're not better footballer then him too.

Or better coaches then Stuart Pierce and Roy Hodgson.

Let's all just shut up.

Riiiight... so what you are saying is I am equating calling a normal person as fat being silly to not being able to comment on whether a footballer or coach is any good? How exactly have you jumped to this magical strawman?

What I questioned was Arfy's definition of the word fat, as if he is some kind of 10K runner then yeah ok fair enough. And yes, Crouch was short once too... still makes no sense.

Calling Mancienne shit does not exclude my football ability from also being shit, whereas calling someone fat or skinny, or tall or short or whatever would suggest you are 'better' in that regard. If some 5ft nothing is mocking me for not quite being 6ft then its certainly more a what the **** moment than someone calling me shit at something.

Well on the same equation of you telling Arfy he's not as fit as Lamps so he shouldn't call him fat - you're not as good a footballer as Mancienne/whoever, so don't call them out as players, and same as far as coaches go.

As far as I understand fat people are allowed to call other people less fat then them 'fat', skinny people are allowed to call other people skinnier then them 'skinny', and shit footballers are allowed to call less shitty footballers 'shit'
