Matri hits first of the season in Châtillon

The Bianconeri striker repeats his feat of this day last season by scoring the first goal of the campaign in an entertaining training game.

After the fitness tests that formed the main part of Juventus’ training session this morning, Antonio Conte opted to focus on retention of the ball as he directed proceedings for the team’s workout this afternoon.

With the Bianconeri legs stretched after intense fitness drills this morning, the evening began with piggy in the middle, a popular choice amongst players and fans. With two players in the centre of the circle chasing down the ball, those remaining on the outside had to keep it away from them for as long as possible.

With their first touch now warmed up, the Bianconeri moved on to a mini match on a half size pitch, an exercise designed to improve team-work and close control. Each player was only allowed two touches, and the team as a whole had to make 10 before being able to shoot on goal.

Alessandro Matri scored the first Juve goal of the year in the mini match, just as he did on the exact same day last season, and went on to score another in a 3-1 win for his team. For his team’s other goal, Vidal finished off an incisive move that drew the approval of Conte.

New signing Fernando Llorente also got on the scoresheet, netting the only goal for the other side.

The team closed a demanding first day of training by stretching, ahead of a return to the field tomorrow morning.

Chatillon, day 2

Carlos Tévez and Fernando Llorente star in a crowd-pleasing afternoon training session in Val D’Aosta.

It was just a brief outing for the first team group this morning, but this afternoon proved a different story as the squad played a lengthy match with non-stop goals.

As the Bianconeri took to the field, they seemed struck by the huge numbers in the stands at Stadio Brunod and the loudness of their support, testament to the unrelenting passion of the fans.

After a tour of the Juventus Summer Village earlier today, Andrea Agnelli joined sporting director Fabio Paratici to watch proceedings unfold from the touchline.

The initial warm up followed a similar pattern to yesterday afternoon’s, with laps of the field and the ever popular piggy in the middle.

In the subsequent six-a-side mini matches, new signing Llorente showed his goal scoring instinct when he scored an impressive early hat-trick with some deft finishing.

Tévez was also on form, working well up front with Mirko Vucinic for his side, and Angelo Ogbonna provided a solid presence in defence.

Fabio Quagliarella finished the session in style when he scored a spectacular overhead kick that drew rapturous applause the fans.

Juve will resume training tomorrow morning at 10pm (CET).

Ofcourse it has to be Motta with the first goal :D Good assist by Llorente.

Yes :D

Now thats more like it, Llorente physically just moves up with the ball from middle to the box with good controll, plays wide to Vidal who directly cuts it in for Tevez in the middle who easily slots it in.

Ogbonna btw is doing well with his passing as Bonnucci understudy.

Mattiello scored the winning goal against Napoli to win the Primavera Coppa Italia. He is a great player for the future.

Vuci scored 2 penalties while Belfodil missed 2 penalties in his debut with inter :howler: he also missed a one-on-one with the gk.
