Porto took the lead through Derlei after 63 minutes. Derlei tapped in a Deco cross to put the favorites in front, a lead they would not relinquish.
Leiria nearly tied the game in the final minutes but Silas long-range blast hit the bar.
Porto played better and fully deserved the victory.
After the game, Nuno Capucho spoke with the media and announced that this was surely his final game for FC Porto.
"This was probably my last game for FC Porto. I would like to wish the club all the best and dedicate this Cup to the Porto fans. I still have a few years of football to play and I feel that it may be time to move on because I haven't been an used too much this season."
Look for Capucho to be a Rangers player by the end of the week.
