Besides the usual suspects, who do you think can potentially be the decider for their teams?

Here is my verdict:

Argentina: besides Messi, Di Maria is the second biggest hope

Brazil: besides Kaka, I am going for Julio Cesar and Luis Fabiano

Uruguay: besides Forlan and Suarez, I am going for Nicolas Lodeiro...potentially one of the candidates for young player of the tournament

Italy: does Di Natale count?...he isn't really Italy's most important player despite being the most in-form one...though he now is under great pressure to prove his stake after finishing as Serie A's top goal-scorer

Chile: Alexis Sanchez is the obvious one, but Valdivia is arguably the most gifted Chilean. Watch out for the '10' Magician. If not him, his replacement Mati Fernandez is another handy player.

Paraguay: Now that Barrios is there, my pick is split between him and Cardozo...though ironically, one may start in the expense of the other

Portugal: besides CR, Pepe will probably prove crucial in the DM department...while Nani is getting some hype, I think Simao could take advantage of his low-profile

Spain: Xavi is arguably the most important, but besides the maestro, I pick Villa to steal the show

I reckon Maicon will be a monster for Brazil.

I've heard that Walter Rooney (or something, i forget exactly) is a hotly tipped young forward, he might nab a goal as England pull off a shock and draw against Algeria.

Di Natale isnt even certain to start and he hasnt really looked like one to decide games. I would say De Rossi maybe. I understand he hasnt been in the best of forms lately, but this is world cup. The reason for him to do well is also because in the last world cup he got banned and therefore had hardly any influence to the road to the final for Italy.

This world cup, there is no Totti around and Pirlo is not getting any younger, so De Rossi needs to do well.

Yeah, but De Rossi is more or less expected to be one of their crucial players...one of the few players in the team that is talented AS WELL AS young...Di Natale though, despite having a tremendous season, isn't getting much importance...so can he finally pull it off for the NT?
I think he is pretty much a guaranteed starter.

for Brazil, their defensive-minded players are arguably their best players. And keeping in mind Dunga's counter-attacking tactics, their defenders, more than any other players, will have to be on top of their game (granted that the front three with Kaka, Robinho/Nilmar and Fabiano is pretty reliable)

I think it is more about these players being less known than the English. I mean we don't even know yet who is definitely in Capello's squad.

Asamoah is just a wonderfull footballer.

I myself think Giovani dos santos will excell for Mexico, and that Mesut Ozil and Marko Marin will lead Germany onwords especiely Ozil, towords winning the cup.

Another suprise imo will be Peter Mesilela at leftback from South Africa, he's just a fantastic leftback and EPL sides will be all over him imo.

And also for Holland Eljiro Elia will be great if given the chance, and I think he will be as I don't see that squad managing injury-free campaign.

At least this year Del Piero hasnt been able to do his selfish 3 months of doing nothing for Juve but waiting in the box to score a goal or penalty to make the World Cup/Euro squad, because this time the Juve team has not been good enough to provide for him.
