Our first as they like to say "test' of the season!

Believe it or not, we never scored more than one goal at OT in the league under Wenger. It's time to end this trend and give them a real beating!

Come on Arsenal!!!

I haven't been at all impressed with United's start to this season or in their preseason, Nani and Valencia (overrated) will be pocketed by Clichy and Sagna, Rooney will be shut down everywhere he goes by Song and Vermaelen, Berbatov has played poorly and should be easily contained by our centrebacks, their midfield of Carrick and Scholes or whoever they play is lacking an option to contain our three man midfield and the wingers and striker ahead of them. Evra should handle whoevers on our right quite well (unless it's Arshavin) but on the left and through the middle we should be fine.
I'd like to see Diaby Denilson and Rosicky playing in the middle for us OR Diaby Denilson and Eboue if Rosicky is unavailable still, probably better being safe than sorry with him at the moment.

I'm pessimistic for this as well without Cesc, United are still the Champions, with Cesc, I think we have a very good chance to win, but the last thing we can afford to do is get overconfident.

The thing that always worries me about a team that has such a hot start like this is how we'll react when things start to go wrong because you know they will at some point.

EDIT: And now Cesc is out.

Fabregas to miss Manchester United clash

By Declan Taylor

Cesc Fabregas’ hamstring injury will keep him out of Saturday’s clash with Manchester United.

The captain was replaced at half-time of last weekend’s 4-1 victory against Portsmouth and missed the Champions League victory over Celtic on Wednesday.

In an interview with Arsenal TV Online yesterday, Arsène Wenger rated Fabregas as “50:50” for the match at Old Trafford. However, at Friday’s pre-match press conference, the manager ruled him out.

“Fabregas is out and his test was not conclusive this morning,” the manager confirmed. “Therefore he will not travel.

“Ideally you want him to travel and to play but he would not be 100 per cent.

“Everybody else who played on Wednesday is ok.”

Exactly, even if we lose this tie, we can simply make up the points by winning away at Burnley and then hopefully tonk United at home with a healthy Cesc.

In a way, it's nice that we knock out our toughest trips early in the season. I mean, we play Manu tomorrow, away Man City 9/12, away Liverpool on 12/5, and away Chelsea on 2/6.

Really, we should be ****ing taking the title this year.

All we need to do is stay in until Feb 9 home to Liverpool.

After that, we have...

Sunderland home
Stoke away
Burnley home
Hull away
West Ham home
Birmingham away
Wolves home
Spurs away
Wigan away
Man City home
Blackburn away
Fulham home

That's 12 straight fixtures at the end of the season and the only really tough ones are probably Spurs away (and they never beat us, so we can probably at least count on getting a point) and Man City home (they can't play defense and we're at home).

I mean **** me, get through Man City and Man Utd with some points and we should be freaking winning the title this year, we really should.

People underestimate our new formation. Denilson is a totally different player, much more assured, so is Song. This is a different Arsenal, however of course mentally you have to think how much these players want to win this game against United.

If Anderson plays then United's midfield will give us a real handful but if he doesn't then I don't see how they will bully us in the middle?

The key I keep saying is not our offensive threat but the toughness of the defence that has helped us win games this season. Even the 6-1 at Goodison was in no small part due to the imperious performance by our back four and Song and our offensive players putting pressure up the pitch.

COME ON ARSENAL. We have to send out a real shockwave throughout the EPL and show them we ain't playing this time around, we're gunning for everybody.

Wish we had Cesc but Diaby has dominated a stronger United team before, the guy is there for the big games so hopefully he can do well.

REVENGE for last season's semi-final is my thing right now. We have to beat them.

He's done alright, what we should play is a front 3 of Arsh-Bendtner/Eddy-RvP and give him a bit more of a free role on the right.

Keep in mind that even with RvP being "sub par", he has 3 assists in 2 games and we haven't exactly been lacking for goals.

Nice to think that with Arshavin, RvP, and Cesc taking FKs and Vermaelen, Gallas, Eduardo, and Bendtner in the air, we might actually do alright on offensive set-pieces.

Keep the convo civil and clearly football based lads

I think it will be a very tight affair, got a feeling we will bring in Eboue for Eduardo. Otherwise will be difficult for our 3 to compete with United's 4 in the middle of the park. I would take a 0-0 draw if I was offered it right now tbh.

I can see anything but a United win in all honesty, think it may be a draw though.
