I gotta tell you, here in Brazil that story doesn't sound so ridiculous. Ronaldo and Milene's marriage is known to be an arrangement. Milene got pregnant as soon as she could after they first met, so she could cash in on the millionaire player. They were together for like two WEEKS before she got pregnant! Add to this the fact that Ronaldo was under a lot of pressure by his agents and sponsors to 'settle down' and marry.

The lovely Susana Werner didn't want the 'housewife' job Ronaldo offered, he was jealous of her modeling career. And Milene's superfast pregnancy put him in a no-choice position; she announced it as soon as it happened so R9 couldn't get out. So they married, because he needed to 'upgrade' his image to 'married man' - the downside of being a superstar, I guess - and Milene wanted the millionaire marriage. Ronaldo cheats on her every chance he gets. And now she apparently cheated on him.

I may be wrong, but it doesn't sound so unlikely. It was a fake marriage, generated out of convenience. He was unfaithful and it stands to reason that she would be too. And it also sounds believable that R9 wouldn't deal well with being cheated.

Why do you guys act as if this is impossible? Is Seedorf gay or strongly religious?

I think Garrincha might be right here. But why on earth Seedorf? :tongue: Well he was sold to Milan in exchange for Coco so if that's the problem i don't know why Ronaldo wanna leave Inter so fast, maybe he thinks he can start a new life as far from Milano as possible. But if he really married her cause of the sponsors he has himself to blame and not the club. And also if t he cheated on her many times aswell(Like Garrincha said) He should have been prepared for this, but in the other hand, why does he care if he didn't even love her from the start. So you date this chick for a couple of weeks, and WHAM! she goes pregnant so fast it makes your head spin. R9 probably cursed her a couple of times, then had to think about his options.

She wouldn't accept an abortion, and his sponsors would all drop him like a dead rat if he even mentioned the word in public. If he refused to marry, she would go to the tabloids to talk about how despicable he is for 'abandoning' her - no matter how generous he was regarding child support. Add to this scenery the pressure his agents and sponsors were already making, wanting him to get married so his image would be a safer investment.

So I kinda understand Ronaldo's decision to marry. Of course, it was bound to end in a sour note. Could anyone really expect them to be 'happily ever after'?

No offense intended to you personally, but if this is the way Ronaldo reasons he's more of an idiot than I thought. If I was arguably the best ball player in the world and got the pay-check he does from his club, just for playing football, I would make sure no one dictates my life rather than adapt to what my agents feel is acceptable from a PR point of view. I would be interested in finding out what percentage of football marriages are successful when the couple met and married before the player became famous as opposed to if the couple met and married after the player became famous.
