A bit about Argentina at the Sports Illustrated website:

Argentina won't be messing around next Thursday against the United States. In case you're wondering, the Copa América won't be as watered-down as you might think. Case in point: Argentina, the U.S.'s opening-game opponent next Thursday, which is taking a roster that includes Lionel Messi, Hernán Crespo, Carlos Tévez, Javier Mascherano, Juan Román Riquelme, Fernando Gago, Diego Milito and Pablo Aimar. One thing I've always loved about the Argentines is their rampant patriotism, and when it comes to playing for their country you don't hear any namby-pamby excuses for sitting out.

2-1 usa its over for u punks:mad: :scream:
Ok there jonny Nitro, stop watching wrestling and get a life.
As if USA has a chance to beat Argentina with the likes of Messi, riquelme, tevez, Crespo... If i'm correct, Only Messi alone is worth more $$ then all the U.S soccer team put together. Oh wait u have Donavan, how much is he worth, a buck , two and a half ?

but i do appreciate ur Patriotism, Keep at it

If I was Basile, I would show our team a tape of the 1995 Copa match. that ought to get our attention and make sure we do not take this one for granted as we (mostly Passarella) did in 1995.

USA just won the Gold Cup final vs. Mexico. No matter which players come to the Copa A. this will not be a walkover match for us. Basile! pay attention! do not pull a "Passarella" this time.

wat its is their c team u should win by 2 0r 3 i guess and they play so-so on foreign soil...but they do have some unknown explosive playas with speed that want to make a gd impression on da US coach and is a very young team so they mite play "I dont give a chit who it is" attitude

He should do what FelipĂŁo did during the World Cup 2002 - give each of his players a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War.

The pressure is on you guys tonight. If you don't beat the USA C-Team then CONCACAF has officially conquered CONMEBOL and the America's region.

Last 3 times you guys played the USA you lost two out of 3 matches. Good luck. USA fans expect a beating so there's no pressure from our end.

end of first half. We look like a car driving with its emergency brake on. Worst performance by Messi I've seen.

Sack Basile now!

Kind of tough to do anything when you are waiting for Veron to deliver an accurate pass (not to mention facing a 9 man front). Overall speed is really lacking and having defensive midfielders does not help Riquelme.

Aimar/Lucho/Tevez might spark things. I do hope that the US sends more than one forward past the midfield in the second half.

telefutura is broadcasting it

finally we wake up. Great goal by Messi-Crespo

Pablito should start next game ahead of Veron. I thought Veron had a decent game, he covered alot of ground, made himself available but his was passing was off, while Cambiasso was non existant. But we need Cambiasso to assist Mascherano otherwise we'd get killed on the counters, so Aimar in for Veron would be the best move.

My MOTM, a toss up between Mascherano who was a monster in midfield and Crespo, two goals and alot of clever movement to open up space, especially in the 2nd half.
