Kinda replied to this in the other thread, but Semb can field an "ok" team, or a lousy one with this squad, it will be interesting to see.

I buggs me that I don't really know how good Luxembourg are. I'm uncertain of how bad they really are.

 

Lucky for Semb that he has been too occupied with the Carew issue, or else he wouldve been praising Luxembourg all week.

One thing is to respect your opponents, another is to be realistic, Semb clearly doesnt know the difference.

I hate using Riise on the left back, cause he's not good there at all, much better as left midfielder, but there were no other useable left backs in the squad.
The only position we got good subs are up front. Both Flos have been good lately. Trond Andersen is also a good backup as central defender and right back. No backup midfielders, and the ones I used in the team aren't exactly among my top choices either.

This team is decent by Tippeliga standards, but as far as NTs go, it's bad.

 

Norway shouldn't have any problems against tiny, cute, Luxembourg….Right? Don't tell me you guys are actually worried about a team that has not won any games in this group…

The way I see it, 1-0 is enough. I'm sorry for Romania, but I want Norway to win now, even I have been very upset with Semb in the past, so much that I almost don't want us to win. I guess the years of following the team, and the team representing our nation, goes ahead of how embarassing it is when Semb starts with his worst tactics. I'm not talking about smart Drillo tactics, but the headless chicken tactics of Semb.

According to Semb, we will probably start with 4-2-4 against Luxembourg.

We won 7-0, and 4-0 against them and we are not going through so obviously the score does not matter as long as the team wins. I'm just tryng to screw with your mind…

The Bosnians are certain they they will win, the Danes are certain that they will get at least a draw, and most Norwegians are worried that we will do something stupid and not win. In a weird way, it's going to be a very exciting saturday.

The thing that doesn't make sense for me about Denmark is what their manager is saying.

After the Romania game, he said: If we play like we did against Romania we will lose in Bosnia. He went on to say that Denmark is not a team that can play for a draw, they aren't good at it. When they have let up in the past they have giving up many leads. So they need to pressure all the time.

Then just a day ago, he said he was 100% certain of a draw, and the auto qualification.

So I think their manager may be just getting a tad nervous.

Not for us. We'll have a stress-free day playing a friendly against Japan and for the first time this year, we obviously don't care if we win, lose or draw....

I've heard player interviews, none have said that. All feel we have a big shot of winning though.

Most of the fans are saying this, and I dont agree with it.

We just get crazy like that all the time.

It should be a tough, but interesting and exciting game.

Trust me, we don't. And now most of the crappy strikers apart from Frode Johnsen isn't in the squad, so we kinda have to score as well.

The opposition was not so good, but still a strong effort by Karadas.

This meant that Norway won the group, and will be seeded in front of the final European Championships qualifying matches.

 

I ended up seeing it live, nice to be back at Ullevaal...

We won 1-0, wich of course is rubbish against Luxembourg. The three striker thing didn't quite work out, I'll post more detailed comments later.

The important thing is that we made the play-off (thanks Denmark ), now let's just hope for Latvia (it was Latvia that finished second in Swedens group, wasn't it?) on monday.

 

What can I say? I think I copy Morten Olsen's comment on the Norway - Luxembourg game:

"A win is a win - nevertheless."

Now we get Latvia in Monday's play off draw in Frankfurt!
