Nedved: I Am So Sad I Could Die

There were mixed emotions for Pavel Nedved last night after he helped Juventus to the Champions League final.

The Czech scored the third goal in a 3-1 win over Real Madrid, but was booked for a foul on Steve McManaman and will miss his side's trip to Old Trafford through suspension.

"I am happy to have played my part, but very sad to miss the final," he said. "I am so sad I could die.

"I didn't really think about the tackle. I was in trouble and just went to win the ball, I fell and was booked for my challenge.

"I will suffer more watching the game in the stands than playing on the pitch. It will be difficult."

As a Milan fan this is really good and it gives us a much better chance at winning the final but the pain is still there since it sucks to see such an amazing player and probably the best player of the year have to sit out on most likely the biggest match of his career. :(

Stay strong, Nedved!

Pavel is God.

He will stay until 2006, and he will get there again. With Lippi we've gotten into CL finals in 4 out of 6 attempts, one of the 'failures' being when Lippi left mid season. He will get there again.

Until then- the others will just have to win it for him, but it will still be his trophee in my book.

Next year we just have to have a more natural cover. Tedious to say it again, but we just have to.

Ciao.

its tragic IMO. i wish everything was scrapped for the final. all players can play etc...would make it a great specticle.

Juve has won without many players this season. we have had major injuries throughout the season and always have seem to find the spirit and character to win.

Del Piero has a big job ahead of him.

Its easy for us to say this now, but I felt the same way last WC when Ballack had to sit out the final. yellow cards should be over looked for a final unless it is deemed violent play, abuse to an official, etc..essentially straight red card situations I guess. Being a little late or sloppy in a challange and then having to sit out a big game is very harsh.

so sad realy

98-99 Roy Keane and Paul Scholes missed the final

last year, Michael Ballack and Ze Roberto missed it

Laurent Blanc missed the WC Final:depress:

*ohhhhhhh* :-(

 hey, it´s so tragic and soooooo sad. I´m so sorry for him. Before this match I read an interview with Pavel where he said that it is his dream to play this final. And now he will not play it. A big night for him and the team and he cannot enjoy it. :( I was a little bit crying with him when I saw his tears... But: its his own fault!!! This foul was as unnecessary as stupid. I think he was a little overmotivated in this moment.
