Anyway, MTK is indeed the most efficient club in Magyar Foci, and I am really impressed about their recruitment of youngsters! This is the way to go ahead. Don't forget the great Juhász Roland.

Húsz év foci után befejezte pályafutását Illés Béla, az MTK háromszoros gólkirály játékmestere. A 38 esztendős egykori válogatott labdarúgó 11 idényt töltött a Hungária körúti együttesnél. A hazai bajnoki meccseken 215 gólt jegyzett.



"Sokat gondolkodtam, s végül úgy döntöttem, befejezem az aktív játékot" - mondta el Illés. "Már nincs motivációm, ezért inkább abbahagyom a futballt. Két csodálatos évtized van a hátam mögött, büszke vagyok mindarra, amit a futballpályán elértem, így nyugodt szívvel fejezem be pályafutásomat. Tizenegy szezont töltöttem a Hungária körúton, otthonommá vált a Hidegkuti-stadion, így nehéz szívvel hagyom el az egyesületet. Mindig szívesen fogok visszagondolni az MTK-ra, az ott szerzett aranyérmekre, gólkirályi címekre, kupagyőzelmekre. Számomra a kék-fehér szín örök szerelem marad" - tette hozzá a válogatott egykori kulcsembere.
