Does anyone know anything about Nistru Otachi? Sigma Olomouc is playing them in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup and I know nothing of them. I did see a game in person between FC Construcul 55 (or something like that) and FC Synot in the InterToto Cup a few years back... Construcul were not that impressive. I suspect a tough game in Moldova, but Sigma should be able to win at home.

Sigma play Sheriff in the 1999 InterToto Cup and advanced on the away goal rule, so it is safe to say that Sigma will not be taking Nistru Otachi lightly.

 

Debrecen played against them a few years ago, and went through easily, though lost in Moldova by 1-0. Olomouc will go through, but on away pitch, it won't be an easy victory.

ToniSamp is right. Belarus is a good team. Did you see their U21s? Besides it was Norway - Belarus 1:1. Belarus can easily end up the runner-up in this group.

Hi Guys,
Can anyone let me know what formation Moldova NT use? Scotland have to win on Wednesday but we know it will be a tough game. Both teams cannot score goals so it could be a goalless draw. We also have alot of players now missing from the team so it will not be our best-even the captain is only 50/50 that he might play.

 

Moldova should have won last night, just lacked a bit of composure in front of goal.

 

Moldovan Soccer Team Exec Goes Ballistic

CHISINAU, Moldova - The chairman of a Moldovan soccer team became so incensed when a penalty kick was awarded to the opponent that he drove his car onto the field and tried to run over the referee.



No one was hurt, and the game was called off.


During Saturday's first division game in Floreni between Roso Floreni and Politehnica Chisinau, referee Vitalie Onica gave Politehnica a penalty kick with the score 1-1.


After Politehnica made the kick, Roso chairman Mihai Macovei drove onto the field and attempted to run over the referee several times. Onica dodged the car each time.


Macovei left the field and was stopped by police officers when he tried to return, Politehnica coach Ion Caras. Macovei has made no comment.


The Moldovan soccer federation on Monday fined Macovei about $1,900, and an investigation is under way.
