Medel is far from "just as good as Makelele". Not even close. Far from a bad player, but also pretty overrated. There are dozens of players like him.

Vidal is fantastic. Different to Vieira for sure, but a fantastic player in his own right.

Valdivia is another great player, who could have had an extraordinary career because very few players have his supreme talent, but his lack of discipline has let him down. In any case, he and Zidane in the same sentence is pretty crazy.

Also, Aranguiz and Mati Fernandez might play too, no? I imagine Sanchez, Beausejour and Vargas will be the attackers?

 

Medel and Makelele are very similar. One defends better and the other attacks better. Medel is more complete though!
